Colombia Special (TGT)

Due to the late filming of the episode, it did not air with the rest of The Grand Tour's second series . Clarkson revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that it would likely go to air in mid-2018 as a standalone episode . The special in Colombia was also corroborated by the New York Post . The episode never aired in 2018, however, and was delayed until 2019.

The presenters are dropped into the wilds of South America in an attempt to become wildlife photographers. Using a trio of offroad vehicles, the presenters set off on an epic journey that sees them travel the length of the beautiful but treacherous nation of Colombia.

The show was initially planned for the second series but due to Clarkson's pneumonia and Hammond's broken leg, it was filmed when the second series aired and aired itself during the shows third series.

• It was the first episode of The Grand Tour to be filmed in South America and marked the first time Clarkson, Hammond, and May visited the South American continent since Top Gear's infamous Patagonia Special and Bolivia Special
• Clarkson still owns the Jeep Wrangler in 2020, kept on his farm.
• At one point May's Panda broke down, forcing Hammond and Clarkson to go around him; in doing so, Hammond got stuck and proceeded to reverse into Clarkson much like he had in Top Gear's Burma Special . Hammond would later mention the Burma incident during a DRIVETRIBE video of him reacting to his many crashes, at a point when his reversing into Clarkson in Colombia was shown.

The Grand Tour’ s second season is winding to a close, but after tomorrow’s episode, there’s still one more thing that’s yet to come–the Colombia Special, in which the presenters take a trio of off-roaders across the South American country of Colombia. Clarkson’s in a Jeep Wrangler, Hammond a massive Chevy Silverado, and May in (predictably) a Fiat Panda 4×4. Clarkson and the other presenters have been slowly trickling out events from the trip on their social media–here’s a quick roundup.

As you can see, Clarkson has been prolifically posting about the trip on Instagram, and while it doesn’t include any details about the presenters’ cars or objective, we do get a couple very flattering shots of Andy Wilman and what I can only assume is Pablo Escobar’s Mercedes. He and Hammond also tweeted in appreciation of the Colombians they encountered on the journey:

The Colombia Special, which started production in late January, was originally slated to be part of the series proper, but was delayed by Clarkson’s pneumonia. As such, it will apparently air later in the year in two parts. So, the next episode actually won’t be the last–there’s still more  Grand Tour  to look forward to in a few weeks.

At about 00:24 into S03E02 there is a song played after Clarksson is saying "many interesting animals to photograph including a hippopotamus". It sounds like its from a movie but i cant identify what. Anyone knows?
