I go to responsible Travel before I…

I go to responsible Travel before I book anything and have always been happy with their service which I have used on several occasions over the years . I know the companies they recommend will be first class and have been screened for their environmental credentials.

Hi Olive. Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review and thank you so much for trusting us with so many of your travel plans. I am really pleased that you value the screening process that all our trips have to pass, to prove that there is a positive impact for local communities and/or nature. We look forward to helping you with your next trip.

Swimming in Croatia

I have just returned from a wonderful swimming trip "island hopping in Croatia" and it was amazing. From my initial enquiry through to booking and the holiday itself was a smooth journey! The trip was run by a family business and used local restuarants, hotel and guides. The swimming was the best ever - crystal clear wates in bays where no-one else was! Definantley recommend

Date of experience : August 03, 2024

Hi there. Your swimming trip sounds amazing! Thanks so much for sharing

Best wildlife tours

I've used Responsible Travel for a few trips now and really love them for the breadth of options they offer. My mum and I recently went to Norway to see whales in the Arctic fjords, which was absolutely incredible, and now we're looking at going to Greenland! They're the best for wildlife and nature tours.

Date of experience : August 02, 2024

Hi there. Thank you so much for your review and we are so pleased that you and your mum had such a great trip to Norway.

So many options and great service!

I travelled to Costa Rica on a volunteering holiday that I found through Responsible Travel and had the most amazing time. The team were helpful in finding the right trio for me and always available on the phone when I called for help or questions. I live the variety of trips they have o. Offer and will always be going through them to find my next holidays!

Hi there. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us and I am so pleased you had such a great trip. We look forward to helping you with your next adventure.

I recently travelled to Canada on a small group tour organised through Responsible Travel. It was a well planned itinerary, great group of people and the guides were exceptional.

Date of experience : June 01, 2024

Thank you for taking time to write a review for us and we are so pleased you had such a good trip to Canada.

Lovely swimming holiday

I joined a swimming holiday recently with one of Responsible Travel's partners. Had a fantastic time with a well-organised trip, learned a great deal, and enjoyed some wonderful swims in Greece.

Date of experience : July 15, 2024

Hi there. Thank you so much for your review and we are so pleased you had such a good swimming holiday.

No response

OMG I am so disappointed with Responsible Travel. I contacted them twice on the phone. The first time they did not ask for any of my details, which I took in good stride, thinking they do not have a pushy selling technique, which deffo appeals to me. However then I called them again making a more specific inquiry about a trip and they promised to get back to me to answer questions they could not answer on the call. There was no follow up email, which I put down to them noting incorrectly my email (although they checked it three times). Suddenly out of the blue a marketing email lands in my inbox, which I did not ask for. So they do have my email! They also have a bizarrely relaxed way of dealing with customers at the point of inquiry, which leaves little faith in how they are going to deal with me later on or if there is a problem.

Date of experience : July 23, 2024

Hi Ana. I was so sorry to read your review and you can see from the other reviews here that this is very unusual and not how we treat customers. If you want, please send me your email address and I will deal with your enquiry personally. We try to offer a very personal service by phone and you can get straight through to our Travel Team most of the time. We don't have options or hold music. Our team are passionate about travel and travelling responsibly and we encourage them to chat with our customers about their travel options. Our emails do sometimes get caught in spam filters and we usually ask for you to check your junk folders. We also try to make it as easy as possible for customers to unsubscribe from our newsletters and always do this quickly. My email address is [email protected] and I look forward to hearing from you Ana. Best wishes and apologies again Tim - Managing Director - Responsible Travel

A very professional and knowledgeable company. I would definitely recommend them,

We have used Responsible Travel before when travelling to Tanzania, so they were the perfect choice when we decided to visit Romania. it is helpful knowing the companies they work with follow the same ideals. They put us in touch with Absolute Carpathian and responded quickly to all our queries which definitely helped the booking process.

Date of experience : July 04, 2024

Hi there. Thank you so much for your kind words and we are so pleased you have trusted us with your travel plans again. Our partners in Romania are really wonderful so I am sure you will have a fantastic holiday.

Cruising Scotland

Responsible Travel took all the effort out of searching for that all-important get-away. Not only did they come up with an interesting selection from which to choose but all were, importantly, eco-friendly holidays. Cruising the Western Isles of Scotland was a magical experience. From our meeting at the Marina to the goodbyes at the end of the journey we felt very 'at home', so relaxed and comfortable and the food was 'simply amazing! We would never have discovered 'Argyll Cruising' without the help of the friendly Responsible Travel staff. Thanks to all the team.

Date of experience : May 11, 2024

It was so lovely to read your review and thank you for taking the time to write it. I am so pleased you had such a wonderful cruise around Scotland. Please remember your loyalty discount and we hope to be able to find you another wonderful trip

Recommend responsible travel

Hi, you Recommend responsible travel. Just back from a fantastic holiday in the is in Ponta Delgada whale watching. We saw many types of dolphin and whale but most spectacularly the blue whale. Thank you to all the staff at the whale and dolphin connection, especially Carina. Thank you to all the staff at Futurismo who works extremely knowledgeable and always respectful of the animals. I highly recommend this holiday.

Date of experience : May 04, 2024

Hi Fiona. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on your wonderful whale watching holiday in the Azores. So pleased you got to see a blue whale!

Relaxing break

Two weeks in Sao Miguel-really relaxing break, organised by Dolphin and whale connection. Saw sperm whales and 3 species of dolphins while staying at Hotel Ponto Delgada, but the highlight of the trip was the Botanic gardens of the Furnas gardens hotel. Amazing baths/jacuzzies, wildlife and nature and lovely staff. Went over to the Princess ring island via local bus and ferry, snorkelling, and managed well without "organised" tours. Only exception was Gerby who took us bird watching-if this is your thing then look him up-a great day

Excellent cycling across the Algarve …

We had a lovely self-led 7 day cycling holiday on ebikes, taking us from Loulé near Faro across the Algarve to Carrapateira on the west coast and finally to Lagos. Bert of Cycling Holidays Portugal supplied our bikes, gpx files for our routes , very thorough notes and transported our luggage between hotels. We had great fun

Date of experience : September 05, 2023

Hi Andrew. Delighted to read your review and that you had such a good self-guided holiday in Portugal. Happy to help you with your next trip as we have 176 self guided cycling trips amongst our 6000 holidays in total and please do remember your loyalty discount.

Nubian Adventure

Just returned from 9 days in Egypt with Responsible/Encounters Travel. We've had an amazing time. Super knowledgeable guide Khaled kept us informed the whole trip. What a lovely man! All very well organised to make the trip as smooth as possible. A really good mix of seeing some of the real Egypt - cities and countryside, the incredible historical antiquities and comfortable hotels.

Date of experience : April 01, 2023

Hi Hilary. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and I am so pleased you had such a wonderful time in Egypt and were so well looked after. I do hope we can help you with your next adventure and please remember your loyalty discount

Amazing exploration of the Atacama desert

I only had a few days to spend in the Atacama Desert, and Francisco was the best partner to help me to make the best use of the time. We have been in touch daily before my arrival, and he adapted the programs with great flexibility based on my interests and my changed travel plans. In an extremely short time I visited the Red Rocks, the salty lagunes and did sandboarding, and had a stunning night with 2 astrophysicists observing the night sky and discussing astronomy. Francisco made sure that i did not need to care or worry about anything, just enjoy the experience. Everything went smooth and on time, he was constantly attentive and a great communicator, the hotel booked was of best quality, the transfers were always on time and the programs were top notch. I can fully recommend his services and cant wait to come back to explore more.

Date of experience : May 03, 2024

Hi there, I am so pleased that you had such a great trip and that we were able to help connect you with Francisco. Please remember you loyalty discount with Responsible Travel for your next trip to the Atacama Desert

Autumn in Japan Fantastic holiday

Fantastic holiday, well organised and informed by the company before we got there. Our group ranged in age from 24-90 (a very able 90yr old !) We averaged about 15000 steps/day, with travel on bullet train / bus / underground. Beautiful temples, gardens, fantastic colour, fantastic food, history of Japan, the toilets !. Very knowledgable rep, American who lives in Japan. He explained everything we asked. He has an extensive knowledge of timetables, temples / shrine / gardens and saki. As a group we were flexible with the time table, usually to beat the weather, and we discussed daily on what tomorrow held!

Date of experience : November 05, 2022

Sounds like you had a really amazing trip and so good that Japan is open again for visitors. Thank you for taking time to write your review

Highly recommended

From Angie who arranged our Eastern Algarve Mini break to Mark and Angus who set us up with everything we would need for a 3 day self guided trip everything Algarve Bike holidays did for us was excellent. They were very flexible and accommodated all our requests. All hotels had pools and the complementary water bottles and cycling tops were a special touch.

Date of experience : September 24, 2023

Hi Nicola. So pleased you had such a wonderful cycling trip in Portugal and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Please do remember your loyalty discount with Responsible Travel and we would love to help you organise your next trip.

North Camino and picos

This was our first holiday with responsible travel, but it certainly won’t be the last. Magic hill holidays planned our North Camino and Picos walking holiday impeccably. The varied hotels were mostly outstanding. We encountered helpful staff at every hotel and most offered delightful views and delicious food. A vegetarian/ lactose free diet was well catered for. Each day we looked forward to discovering where we would stay and enjoyed the chance to swim in the sea or a pool at most places. Magic hill used the magnificent historic buildings and stunning landscapes to tailor a delightful holiday, where each day seemed even better than the last.

Date of experience : September 11, 2023

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your wonderful walking trip in Northern Spain. We will make sure our partner knows how much you enjoyed it too. I have just returned from walking the Camino to Burgos so I can picture the historic buildings, churches and landscapes you mention. Please remember your loyalty discount for a future trip.

Northern Lights Escape

This trip exceeded our expectations. It was the trip of a lifetime. Every day was wonderfully different. We saw so much of Iceland in such a short time (magnificent waterfalls, spouting hotspots, black beach, biggest glacier in Europe, ravishing landscape). We even saw a glimpse of the Northern Lights. We finished our trip with a lovely visit to the Blue Lagoon. The tour was extremely well organised. Our local guide was the best we could have wished for. His knowledge was incredibly valuable. He was witty and a great story teller.

Date of experience : November 16, 2022

Hello and thank you for writing your review. It sounds like you had an amazing trip to Iceland and were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. Sometimes a glimpse is enough! We look forward to helping you with your next adventure.

Recently came back from Croatia and had a wonderful time. Initially had a hard time choosing between all the great trips but so happy with our choice and the islands off Split are incredible. Split itself is a great place to wander around and eat Lavender ice cream. Great for veggie food. Everything was organised for us so could fully relax and enjoy every moment. Swimming in the Adriatic is a dream and we loved Zlatni Rat beach. Would recommend Responsible Travel to all my friends and am already looking for our next holiday.

Date of experience : June 23, 2022

So pleased to read your review and thank you for the recommendations and glad we are already helping you with your next trip!

This is I think my second or third…

This is I think my second or third where I have booked via Responsible Travel. They have put me in touch with several travel companies which have interesting sounding holidays which I probably wouldn't have found myself. This latest holiday was with Small Ship Cruise Collection in Croatia. A boat for 30 visiting the islands between Split and Dubrovnik. A lovey week. Thank you Responsible Travel.

Date of experience : October 01, 2022

Thank you so much for trusting us with your holidays and I do hope you are using your loyalty discount! I am very pleased to hear your small ship cruise in Croatia was such a success

3 Restaurants To Visit During Miami Spice

This annual event ushers in the best time to dine in South Florida, with more than 350 restaurants across Greater Miami and Miami Beach offering special deals.

Pao by Paul Qui is a feast for the eyes.

If you’re the type of traveler who would visit Miami just to savor a sweet guava-and-cheese-stuffed pastelito and potent cup of Cuban coffee at Versailles, Miami Spice Restaurant Months is a must.

The 23rd annual event from the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau gives foodies an extra reason to try some of the best restaurants in the city: through September, you can enjoy three-course lunches and brunches for $30 or $35 and dinners for $45 or $60.

However, in a city spilling over with restaurants, the dining options can be overwhelming. More than 350 restaurants are participating across 20 neighborhoods in Greater Miami and Miami Beach, but we found three enticing spots to put at the top of your Miami Spice culinary itinerary:

Pao by Paul Qui

Set within the bright, bold Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Faena Hotel Miami Beach , Pao is a feast for the eyes. Under a gold-leaf dome, palm fronds adorn the walls and a Damien Hirst unicorn sculpture (named Golden Myth, it’s half painted in bronze and gold leaf and half flayed, exposing the muscles and tissues) stands sentinel over diners sitting in the brown leather curved banquettes.

Born in Manila and based in Texas, Qui came to fame when he competed on the ninth season of Top Chef . Now he’s known for helping introduce Filipino cuisine to a wider audience with his own string of restaurants. At Four-Star Pao, Qui continues to showcase Filipino food, but he weaves in Japanese, French and Spanish influences for unique fusion fare.

For dinner, begin with the fried chicken, crunchy bites of boneless meat coated in sweet chili sauce, topped with fresh herbs, jalapeño and shallots with roasted banana ketchup for dipping. Or go for the maguro, fresh bluefin tuna with tomatillo aguachile, sesame oil, serrano pepper and avocado puree. Then move on to tobanyaki , a savory plate of adobo rice, Comté cheese espuma, wagyu short rib and pickled chilies, or the branzino with black garlic miso labneh and kaffir-brown butter breadcrumbs.

Desserts also get the fusion treatment, whether it’s the panna cotta with strawberry confit, Thai basil and coconut-lime sorbet or the champorado , a chocolate rice porridge with caramelized cashews, soufflé and Hukambi whipped ganache.

Insider Tip: Arrive early for a drink at the bar. As you gaze at the unicorn sculpture, sip The Myth. The tropical libation infuses ube (a Filipino purple yam) into Grey Goose and Absolut vodka and adds coconut rum, toasted pineapple and lemon. It comes in a heavy copper cup shaped like a unicorn head.

A sampling of Sofia’s sophisticated fare.

This Design District restaurant hides in a corner of the Palm Court shopping center, but you know you’re heading in the right direction when you come upon the Italian restaurant’s ruffled pink umbrellas on the patio. More pink awaits inside, and it’s decidedly more glamorous with floors made of pink and white marble, salmon-colored velvet chairs under milky-white Murano glass chandeliers and alcoves bathing a rosy neon light on the pink leather booths.

But your eyes will be drawn to the art, a rotating display of contemporary works like Italian painter Marco Grassi’s Grama Gold Experience n. 572 , a portrait of a wide-eyed young woman surrounded by gold leaf and bursts of bright colors, or Russell Young’s Marilyn Crying, a screen-print of a famous photo of Marilyn Monroe weeping in a car. Here, she shimmers with pink diamond dust.

After admiring the Pop works, start brunch with appetizers like the thick sourdough bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes, creamy stracciatella cheese, basil and balsamic, or the fritto misto , a heaping plate of fried calamari, zucchini and eggplant with a Meyer lemon aioli dipping sauce.

For the main course, the spicy rigatoni alla vodka is a must. Sofia’s signature dish is elevated comfort food (thanks to the 36-month-aged Parmigiano Reggiano shards) with a kick (courtesy of the Calabrian chili). Though the carrozza also is tempting — the brioche buffalo mozzarella sandwich is coated and fried to crisp perfection, with each triangle standing upright on a pool of Parmesan fonduta and topped with truffle shavings. For the last course, go for the tiramisu. Sofia updates the traditional dessert by layering in its housemade espresso semifreddo.

Check out the special list of Miami Spice cocktails, too. We enjoyed the fruity pink-hued Love Affair, with tequila, pisco, passion fruit, pistachio and chili tincture for some heat.

Insider Tip: The pretty-in-pink patio is popular. Snag one of the plush blush loveseats or rattan peacock chairs to dine under the palm trees. You’ll have a good vantage point for architect Buckminster Fuller’s Fly’s Eye Dome , a 24-foot geodesic dome with bubbled sides that serves as the courtyard’s centerpiece.

A look inside Avra’s lush dining room.

Avra Estiatorio Miami

Avra was a dream of cofounder Nick Tsoulos, who emigrated from Greece and brought with him the seafood and taverna-style fare he grew up eating. Avra first made a splash in New York before moving to other cities, with more U.S. locations on the way.

The Miami outpost, tucked inside Five-Star Acqualina Resort and Residences on the Beach ’s Estates, brings elements of Greece into the sprawling dining room. Bougainvillea laces through the pergola ceiling, fiddle-leaf figs and potted leafy trees pepper the space, salt stone sculptures hang on the white walls and floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the ocean.

Here, you will find wholesome food simply prepared to let the fresh, quality ingredients shine. At dinner, you could fill up by sharing starters like the classic spreads (we especially enjoyed the htipiti , a velvety spicy red pepper and whipped feta dip, and the melitzanosalata , a smoky eggplant option) with fresh pita; the tender, flavorful grilled octopus with Vidalia onions, capers, bell peppers and red wine vinaigrette; and the classic grilled saganaki (and you might want to go off the Miami Spice menu and add on the addictive Avra chips, paper-thin rounds of fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki). But then you wouldn’t get to enjoy the mild, sweet lavraki (sea bass) filet or the grilled chicken drizzled with lemon sauce.

While you can never go wrong with baklava, don’t miss the portakalopita. We’re still thinking about the cake’s layers of moist, flaky phyllo infused with zesty orange flavor and aromatic spices accompanied by a scoop of housemade vanilla ice cream.

Savor the last of the season with the Summer Spice, a well-balanced Miami Spice cocktail featuring Four Roses bourbon, pineapple, lime, simple syrup, cocoa bitters and a Tajín rim for a jolt.

Insider Tip: Opt for an alfresco terrace table overlooking the ocean and watch the sun sink into the horizon. In addition, there’s more to taste at Acqualina: the Sunny Isles hotel offers Miami Spice menus at its Four-Star Italian fine-dining spot Il Mulino New York and Japanese fusion restaurant Ke-uH .

Halsey Reveals ‘The Great Impersonator’ Release Date, Cover Art

By Kalia Richardson

Kalia Richardson

Halsey fans won’t have to wait long for the singer’s fifth album. Halsey announced that her upcoming album The Great Impersonator will arrive Oct. 25, and also revealed one version of the forthcoming project’s art: a wide-eyed, rosy-cheeked self portrait that resembles a clipping from a newspaper ad.

“I made this record in the space between life and death,” Halsey wrote on social media. “And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already.”

My 5th studio album “The Great Impersonator” coming October 25th. I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already. Pre-order available now. pic.twitter.com/xyV5D9ryqX — h (@halsey) September 4, 2024

Yesterday, she launched a scavenger hunt for fans to unveil the five different covers for the album. On Aug. 27, Halsey released the trailer for her “confessional concept album,” a nearly 90-second clip that explores how her music would’ve been perceived if it debuted in the 2000s, Nineties, Eighties, or Seventies. The Great Impersonator will use sound to travel through time.

Halsey, who released her last album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power three years ago, marked her return with “The End,” a song that traces her health struggles with  Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder . The chilling track was also an ode to her fans. In July, Halsey released “ Lucky ,” a pop track that interpolates both  Britney Spears ‘ hit of the same name and  Monica ‘s “Angel of Mine,” followed by “ Lonely Is the Muse, ” in August, a dark pop track about how past lovers played a role in her self worth.

The Great Impersonator is available for pre-order .
