MINNEAPOLIS — Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is well underway after getting its start in Glendale, Arizona back in March. Thousands of fans have already seen the 12-time Grammy winner perform her nearly three-hour show in stadiums across the country, some in the pouring rain , and in just a few days Swifties will descend on Minneapolis for their turn.

Grab your best dress, cardigan and red lipstick – here's what you need to know before an enchanted evening at U.S. Bank Stadium.

When is Taylor Swift performing in Minneapolis?

The Eras Tour will have two shows at U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.

Shows on both nights start at 6:30 p.m. CT. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Are tickets still available?

Ticketmaster previously showed that U.S. Bank Stadium was completely sold out of tickets for both nights, but on Tuesday, June 13, the official ticket seller for the Eras Tour opened up additional ticket sales to Verified Fans.

However, some Verified Fans reported being unable to enter the queue for a chance to buy tickets.

On the resale website StubHub , tickets start at $1,150 for seats with a restricted view, up to $15,000 for floor seats

If you're hoping to snag a last-minute ticket on the cheap, beware that you're not being scammed. On June 18, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison urged Swifties to be wary of ticket scams that could have them shelling out hundreds or thousands of dollars without ever setting foot inside the stadium.

“Minnesotans who are defrauded by online ticket scammers should not have to endure a ‘Cruel Summer,’” said Attorney General Ellison, in a statement. “Ticket scammers are nothing but trouble and what they do is illegal. I won’t stand by knowing there may be scammers out there trying to deceive Minnesota Swifties and other fans."

U.S. Bank Stadium also urged Swifties without tickets to not congregate around the building Friday and Saturday night. "Fans without tickets to the concert are strongly discouraged from gathering outside the stadium this weekend," a Thursday tweet said. In other cities, like Philadelphia , fans have set up shop outside arenas to listen to Swift's show from parking and tailgating lots.

"U.S. Bank Stadium is an enclosed stadium in the heart of downtown Minneapolis," the post continued.

If you couldn't get tickets but still want to party like it's 1989, check out these local Swift-themed pre-parties and events happening throughout the weekend .

How do I get to U.S. Bank Stadium? Where should I park?

U.S. Bank Stadium is located at 401 Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis.

The stadium doesn't manage any public parking, so those driving to the concert should utilize parking ramps located near the venue. The Stadium Parking Ramp is connected via Skyway to U.S. Bank Stadium.

There are more than 20,000 parking spaces between the stadium and Hennepin Avenue within a 20-minute or less walk. To book parking in advance, click here .

For more information on parking and transportation at U.S. Bank Stadium, click here .

If you want to avoid driving and parking, both Metro Transit Blue and Green Line trains will drop you off at U.S. Bank Stadium Station. However, the last Blue and Green line trains normally depart the U.S. Bank Stadium station around 11:30 p.m., the time when Swift's show wraps up. To make those trains, fans would've had to leave the concert early.

Metro Transit  initially said it didn't plan to extend service the nights of the concert, tweeting on June 12 that "as of now, we are not planning on running extra trains after the Taylor Swift concert." However, in a post on Monday, June 19, the agency said it will offer additional light rail and bus routes, which will exit downtown past 1 a.m., including the METRO D Line.

Well well well… look who’s changed their tune. @MetroTransitMN is reversing course & adding additional LRT & bus routes past 1 a.m. for @taylorswift13 #MinneapolisTSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/suhgXnBZQL — Nikki Muehlhausen (@NikkiKARE11) June 20, 2023

The METRO Blue Line also has northbound trips that operate past midnight, which can be used to access the ABC Ramps near Target Field. Click here for more information from Metro Transit .

The Mall of America is offering a shuttle service from Bloomington to the stadium. The "M.O.Tay SWIFTLIFT" costs $13 per person on both Friday and Saturday nights. Busses will depart from MOA at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. and will depart U.S. Bank Stadium 30 minutes after the last song ends to bring you back to the mall. Those under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult who's 21 or older.

And for those heading to T Swift from farther south, the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority is also offering roundtrip rides to and from U.S. Bank Stadium. Tickets cost $5 and will pick Swifties up at Marschall Road Transit Station, Burnsville Transit Station, Apple Valley Transit Station, and Eagan Transit Station.

How can I buy Taylor Swift merch?

If you're heading to the concert, chances are you already have an outfit picked out. But if you want to take home a piece of Eras Tour memorabilia, the official Taylor Swift merchandise truck is rolling into town on Thursday, June 22. Here's when it'll be open:

  • Thursday: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Friday: Opens at noon
  • Saturday:  Opens at noon

You can find the Eras Tour merch truck on DTE Plaza, located at 425 Park Avenue South.

A dedicated group of fans camped out early Wednesday morning, some having been there for more than 10 hours.

Are there any road closures this weekend?

On both nights, Chicago Avenue between Fourth and Sixth streets will be closed from 11 a.m. until an hour after the concert ends, and Fourth Street will be closed between Park Avenue and Norm McGrew Place from 2:30 p.m. until an hour after the concert ends.

Need non-emergency help from the city? Minneapolis is extending 311 service hours throughout the Taylor Swift concerts and Pride weekend. Normal service hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday. This weekend, calls will be answered the following times:

  • 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, June 23
  • 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, June 24
  • 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, June 25

Can I bring bags into U.S. Bank Stadium?

The Clear Bag Policy is in effect for both Taylor Swift shows. Only bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” will be permitted into the stadium.

Small clutch bags that are 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options. A bag check will be available at DTE Plaza and near the Ticketmaster Gate.

Who is performing with Taylor Swift in Minneapolis?

On both nights, Norwegian singer-songwriter girl in red will join Swift on her Twin Cities stops as one of two accompanying acts.

On Friday, Gracie Abrams will take the stage as well, followed by OWENN  on Saturday.

What's the Eras Tour setlist?

As the name suggests, the Eras Tour pays homage to the periods of Swift's 17-year career. The show features 44 songs, including two surprise acoustic songs that vary each performance , from Swift's 10 studio album catalog. According to Cosmopolitan , here's an idea of the songs fans can expect to sing along to for more than three hours. Need to practice your lyrics? You can find set list playlists on Apple Music and Spotify .

What should I wear to the show?

Keeping in mind that you'll need to make it through three hours of singing and dancing, concert-goers have pulled out all the stops at Swift's shows so far. There are plenty of listicles and Pinterest boards full of inspiration on what to wear, but we've seen a lot of sequins and sparkles, ethereal tulle dresses, and butterfly and heart-themed clothing – most of which reflect one of the albums celebrated in the Eras Tour.

The alternative pop artist from Oslo, born Marie Ulven - is continuing her path to world domination, kicking off 2022 with a  Best New Alternative Artist nomination for the iHeart Radio Music Awards.

Review: TAYLOR SWIFT - THE ERAS TOUR at U.S. Bank Stadium

This concert is June 23rd and June 24th.

pixeltracker

Performing at U.S. Bank Stadium, Taylor Swift brings her two-night fully sold-out concert to Minneapolis, Minnesota. A lot of businesses and restaurants planned Swiftie parties, food and drink specials all Taylor-themed during the weekend to welcome Taylor back to Minneapolis. Even the mayor - Jacob Frey - declared this weekend to be "Swiftie-apolis!".

Prior to the concert, crowds poured into Minneapolis, all dressed in their Era's themed outfits and trading friendship bracelets outside. They took fun photos, buying merch, and got pumped up for the concert! Taylor had two openers, Girl in Red and Gracie Abrams, who performed their music sets for the crowd. Then, after videos of Taylor from the past played on the big screens for fans to watch, she came on.

The countdown began on the large screen to Taylor Swift and the audience ran wild and screamed in excitement for Taylor to appear on stage. The stage was massive and stretched down the main floor. Taylor's dancers came out on stage with large coverings that depicted petals of flowers. They covered the middle area and then Taylor made a grand entrance as she rose up from the floor. The fans screamed with excitement and Taylor smiled and acknowledged her fans from multiple angles on the stage. She opened with "Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince."

Review: TAYLOR SWIFT - THE ERAS TOUR at U.S. Bank Stadium Image

Taylor took us through all of her albums and Eras. She sang many of her hit songs and dressed for all of her Eras in costumes that represented her different albums. My personal favorite was the dress she wore from "Enchanted" from her Speak Now album. She looked absolutely incredible.

The sets were massive as she did "The Man" where she had a multi level house and Betty, where she had a tree house. These sets were elaborate and it felt like you were in a music video with her. Her back-up dancers were excellent and in character. The concert had many theatrical elements to it. Throughout the night Taylor shared with the crowd about her inspirations for her music and writing process. She also shared how she re-recorded Taylor's version album.

The large screens where the videos played also had scenes and backgrounds for each of her songs representative of different eras and albums. When they appeared between each song, the audience screamed knowing what was coming next.

Taylor surprised the fans with two songs: Paper Rings, which she played on her acoustic guitar. She also played If This Was A Movie (Taylor's Version) from Fearless (Taylor's Version) on the piano. It was beautiful and the crowd grew wild as it's always a guess what her surprise songs will be at each concert. The crowd loved both.

Review: TAYLOR SWIFT - THE ERAS TOUR at U.S. Bank Stadium Image

Taylor proved why she is a chart topping, Grammy winner, world wide icon. She is a talented singer, songwriter, and musician and loyal to her fans. She gave a spectacular concert that started at 8 PM right on the dot and was three straight hours. It was an unforgettable night. I would highly encourage everyone to see Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour.

Since COVID-19, Swift has evolved as an artist and fostered an even more meaningful connection with her fans by being extremely prolific in recent years — from surprise albums “Folklore” and “Evermore” to the re-recording of her 2012 classic “Red” (with the release of the 10-minute version of “All Too Well”, a fan favorite) and her return to pop with the 2022 cultural sensation that was her 10th studio album “Midnights.”

Before Swift even took the stage, it was obvious from the outfits worn by thousands of fans (an unwritten rule of attending the Eras Tour — dress up as your favorite Swift era ) the Minneapolis Swifties were eager to experience songs from Swift’s seventh studio album, “Lover,” live, with the plurality of attendees clad in pink — the dominant hue of the album cover itself and its associated aesthetic.

Swift took to social media in Novmeber 2022 to describe the upcoming 2023 stadium tour as “ a journey through the musical eras of my career.”

With Swift’s statement was the promotional tour poster showing 10 distinct images of Swift (representing each of her 10 studio albums). The Eras Tour was advertised as THE tour for any and all Taylor Swift fans, regardless if they became obsessed with her songs during her country era; or when she was solidified as a pop mainstay in the early 2010s; or when she explored a mellow singer-songwriter style with “Folklore” and “Evermore.”

On both nights in Minneapolis, Swift opened her sets with several songs off “Lover.”  The set list of the Eras Tour has remained largely the same aside from the two surprise songs she does every night of the tour towards the end of her performance.

Serving as the exposition to the setlist, Swift opened with “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince.” A mid-tempo, yet incredibly catchy track, it was an excellent precursor to the second song in Swift’s set, the anthemic “Cruel Summer.”

“Cruel Summer,” which is now being promoted as a single four years after the release of “Lover,” was a perfect cathartic release of all the hype and anticipation of an audience eager to see Swift perform live after releasing four albums of brand-new material in the past four years. Swift shined vocally during the second song of the show, powerfully delivering the song’s vocal run in the chorus and commanding the audience’s attention in the stadium.

“Are you ready to go back to high school with me?” Swift asked the audience before she and her backing band ushered in a performance of the country-pop anthem “You Belong With Me,” a song that tells the story of having a high school crush on a boy who is already in a (toxic) relationship, one of her many iconic singles off her second LP, “Fearless.”

Moving through Swift’s studio albums and their respective eras non-chronologically, “Evermore” followed up the “Fearless” portion of the concert for a comfortable lull in Swift’s three-hour performance. The singer-songwriter performed fan-favorites like “‘Tis the Damn Season” and “Champagne Problems” off the 2020 studio album.

Later on in the setlist, Swift performed seven songs from her other 2020 release, “Folklore,” with each section of the show contrasting well with other high energy eras like “Red” and “1989,” which are riddled with high-energy pop hits.

After a relatively mellow period in the setlist, the sold-out crowd was riled up once imagery and sounds of the “Reputation”-era snake iconography were shown on the massive screens on-stage and heard from the loudspeakers.

The loud, distorted bass intro of  “…Ready For It?,” the opening track of her 2017 LP, blasted throughout the stadium to thunderous cheers from fans. Swift’s performance proved that the song is a mindblowing masterclass of pop, even six years later. With excellent group choreography, on-stage visuals, Swift’s vocal performance and the pure excitement of the concert-goers, “…Ready For It?” was one of the best moments of Swift’s two-night stint at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Despite being an album that is clearly polarizing in online music discourse , one can not deny that “…Ready For It?” and “Look What You Made Me Do” are powerful songs that will go down as some of Swift’s most experimental and iconic, one of the myriad of examples of her versatility as a songwriter.

Following “Reputation,” Swift played just one song off “Speak Now” (the re-recording of which is set to be released in July), her ballad “Enchanted,” to many adoring fans loudly singing along to the passionate lyrics in the bridge: “Please, don’t be in love with someone else. Please, don’t have somebody waiting on you.”

Towards the end of Saturday night’s performance, however, Swift treated the sold-out crowd to another song off “Speak Now” as one of the night’s two surprise songs: “Dear John,” a song she had not performed live since 2012.

Before performing the song, whose lyrics reference her former relationship with singer-songwriter John Mayer, Swift told her audience that the re-release of “Speak Now” is not meant to be an opportunity for fans to defend her from her exes from many years ago.

“I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19 except the songs I wrote and the memories we made together. So what I’m trying to tell you is I’m not putting this album out so you can defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about,” Swift said.

There is just one flaw (or, rather, an omission) that sticks out like a sore thumb on the Eras Tour — the lack of any songs from Swift’s 2006 debut album on the main setlist. At one point in her performance Swift announces that the Eras Tour is meant to celebrate 17 years of music.

But is it really celebrating all 17 years of her uber-successful career if she does not give her debut any room in the setlist at all?

eras tour minnesota

Instead, the earliest Swift material in the consistent setlist of the stadium tour (discounting surprise songs, in Minneapolis’ case none of which were songs from her debut) is from 2008’s “Fearless,” really making it a celebration of 15 years of her catalog instead of a truly all-encompassing one.

“Speak Now” was given just one space for a song on the setlist. Swift could have easily taken one song off the “Folklore” or “Evermore” sections of the concert to make room for performances of “Our Song” or “Teardrops on My Guitar” as an homage to her career beginnings. Her self-titled 2006 album might be her songwriting in its infancy (still in her country era), but the songwriting is still great and is beloved by many fans to this day, making its exclusion from the setlist confusing.

In the grand scheme of things, this is a nitpick, because Swift’s two nights in Minneapolis will go down as some of the best concerts to grace the Twin Cities in 2023.

Following “Speak Now” was the sixth act of the concert, dedicated to her trailblazing pop-crossover album “Red.” Potentially the most engaging stretch of songs for both nights in Minneapolis, Swift brought iconic singles from the album “22,” “We Are Never Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble” to life — the three songs featuring some of the best choruses in Swift’s entire catalog. Closing the “Red” era for both of her Minneapolis performances was the now even more beloved fan-favorite “All Too Well,” in its glorious, uncut 10-minute version.

Swift later fired up the crowd once again with “Style,” initiating Swift’s blockbuster “1989” era.

Swift continued to honor her 2014 studio album by performing chart-topping singles “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off” with choreography and symbolism that called back to the music videos for the songs. “Shake It Off” proved to be explosive and uplifting in a live setting, with Swift and her many backup dancers swinging and swaying to the song’s extremely catchy rhythm.

Concluding both concerts were seven selections from Swift’s 2022 LP “Midnights,” the biggest allotment given to any album era in the setlist. Swift kicked off the finale of the show by singing to the lush, dreamy production of “Lavender Haze,” then queued in one of the biggest songs of 2022, “Anti-Hero.” Closing out both nights was “Karma.” An infectious, hooky song from “Midnights,” it was a perfect conclusion to the three-hour concert, giving the packed stadium one last chance to dance like there was no tomorrow before Swift left the building.

As if there was even any doubt before, Taylor Swift has, once again, proved to the world that she is one of the (if not the single) most important songwriters and performers of the 21st century with back-to-back tour de force performances in Minneapolis.

Get ready to hear attendees of the tour rave about it for years to come.

Taylor Swift's Minnesota fans gather to laud their queen

Friday is the first of Swift's two sold-out shows at U.S. Bank Stadium.

By Jenna Ross

Shimmering Taylor Swift fans filled U.S. Bank Stadium with sequins Friday for a concert that marked not only a major cultural moment but an intimate, shared experience — between mothers and daughters, longtime besties and, after the exchange of bracelets, new friends.

They were there for the Eras Tour concert, buzzed about for weeks. Swift sold out two shows at the stadium after an infamous Ticketmaster debacle that disappointed those who didn't get in. Gov. Tim Walz proclaimed Friday and Saturday's concert dates official "Taylor Swift Days," following Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey's unofficial renaming of the city to "Swiftieapolis."

After fighting Ticketmaster and traffic and long waits for merchandise, concertgoers grinned when finally entering the stadium, snapping selfies and singing songs. They were given another kind of bracelet — one that lit up. As a clock onstage counted down, the crowd screamed louder, then louder still.

Finally, Swift appeared on a stage awash in pink lighting. The tour covers all ten of her studio albums, with color-coded outfits for each "era." Her fans, famously devout and detailed, had dressed in their own elaborate outfits, many bespoke, that referred not only to the eras but to specific lyrics, quotes and inside jokes.

"Minneapolis, Minnesota, you're making me feel fantastic right now," Swift greeted the crowd.

A few songs in, a guitar around her neck, she asked: "Is there anyone here who put in a considerable amount of effort to be with us tonight?" The crowd roared. "That was exactly what I thought you were going to say."

"I just have a feeling I know the answer to this one too," she continued. "Is there anyone who put in a lot of thought about what they were going to wear tonight?"

The crowded roared again.

"I say this ... it's looking very cute. You did an amazing job."

The crowd sang along to every lyric of every era, their wrists sometimes blinking in time and changing colors. As Swift walked down the runway and into the crowd, singing "You Belong With Me," 13-year-old Penelope Hauser reached her hands out toward her from the main floor. Hauser began to cry, hugging her mom, Fran Hauser, of Rochester, who held her close.

It's a song that's played at every school dance, Penelope Hauser explained later, still teary. "She was coming so close."

Migration Catchall

Outside the stadium, family and friends reflected on how long it had been since they'd seen Swift in concert, how much they'd changed over that time.

Abigail Greenheck and her friend and old college roommate Chelsie Flatness surprised their 7-year-old daughters with tickets and matching red, sequined jackets. The pandemic brought Greenheck and her daughter, Sidney, "together in Swiftie nation," she said. Together, they devoured the albums, the documentaries.

"Now it's a shared love between us."

Fans can relate to Swift's different genres and eras because they, too, move through phases in their own lives, Greenheck said, her cheeks sparkling with silver glitter. "There's a commonality in that I think is cross-generational."

Outside on the plaza, two women in their 20s wearing bright red lipstick and heart-shaped sunglasses performed "All Too Well" on their harps.

"We're the unlucky ones," said Hannah Flowers, 27, as her friend and fellow harpist Anna Maxwell, 29, laughed. Unable to find tickets they could afford, the pair decided to perform for Swifties.

A girl apologized for not having money to tip them, offering a bracelet with letters spelling "August," a song from "Folklore," and "Bejeweled," from "Midnights," instead. A mom thanked the pair for lowering her blood pressure.

"We're happy to help," Flowers said.

Fans drove from the suburbs, from Iowa, from Manitoba. Susie Imhof and her mother, Annie, flew in from Denver to celebrate her 18th birthday. Friday's show would be her fourth time seeing Swift on this tour.

"We can't stop," Annie Imhof said. "We're addicted now."

Dozens of fans started their day at the Mall of America, which was offering free bracelet-making and face-painting in the north atrium, as well as $13 rides in yellow school buses to downtown Minneapolis.

Clad in cowboy boots and curls, Anaya Sierra threaded green and lettered beads onto elastic, spelling out "Our Song."

The 27-year-old has loved Swift since 2008, when she first heard that tune on the radio, she explained, beaming. She and her sister, Marcella, 20, drove up from Mason City, Iowa, on Thursday with their mother, Raquel Ponce, to see Swift for the first time.

They nabbed tickets for $159 a piece — a steal, they thought, considering resale prices.

The sisters love how Swift is true to herself, despite the haters, fights for her fans and adores her mother. In them, Ponce sees herself as a young, Prince-loving music fan. "To me, she's like Prince," she said of Swift. She writes her own songs, does her own thing and "is on her own level."

"I'm so happy to see them so excited," she said of her daughters, snapping photos. "They've been planning their outfits for weeks."

Just as Anaya Sierra was tying off her bracelet, the DJ played "Our Song." The sisters squealed, then sang along, rocking their hips.

On the bus to the stadium, fans traded friendship bracelets, a trend based on a lyric in "You're on Your Own, Kid" — "So make the friendship bracelets / Take the moment and taste it." Emma Pufahl, 23, made smaller friendship rings after spotting them on TikTok. As someone blasted "Cruel Summer" on their cellphone, a few folks debated possible "surprise songs."

Haley Willson, 21, predicted "Exile," a song that features Bon Iver, aka Justin Vernon, who is based in nearby Eau Claire, Wis.

"If Bon Iver came out, I would collapse," she said with a dramatic sigh.

The day tickets went up for sale, Willson refreshed Ticketmaster from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. She was about to give up when four tickets appeared. "I sobbed hysterically," she said. Willson, of St. Cloud, has been a fan "since birth," she said. Sitting beside her, her mother Katy Dols, 42, explained: "I'm the OG Swiftie."

Her wrists were covered in colorful bracelets the pair had crafted the night before. The mother-daughter pair had seen a lot of concerts together, Dols said, but "this is the most special."

Her voice caught and tears formed. "She's my best friend, my partner in crime."

Taylor Swift Asks Fans Not to Cyberbully as She Unearths ‘Dear John’ for First Time in 11 Years

By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

The “Surprise Songs” portion of Taylor Swift ’s The Eras Tour delivered perhaps its biggest surprise yet Saturday in Minneapolis as Taylor Swift unearthed “ Dear John ” for the first time in 11 years.

The Speak Now track is, notoriously, a biting ballad allegedly aimed at former flame John Mayer. While Swift didn’t mention that artist by name in her long introduction to the track Saturday, she told fans not to cyberbully a certain someone in the aftermath of the performance and the impending arrival of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in 13 (now 12) days.

After acknowledging the connectedness and passion of her friendship bracelet-sharing fanbase, Swift asked that that “kindness and gentleness extend into our internet activities.”

Minneapolis (Taylor’s Version)

eras tour minnesota

It has been almost five years since Taylor Swift last graced the city of Minneapolis with one of her notoriously show-stopping stadium performances . In August of 2018, the popstar played to a crowd of over 40,000 at U.S. Bank Stadium amid her record-breaking Reputation Stadium Tour. After hearing her many heartfelt proclamations throughout the weekend of how much she loved playing Minneapolis, then-Gov. Mark Dayton officially memorialized Aug. 31 as “Taylor Swift Day” in the state of Minnesota. It was a remarkable night to be both a Minnesotan and a Taylor Swift fan (or as they label themselves, “Swifities”), especially smack-dab in the historic window of what critics thought to be the biggest, most influential tour of her career.

But they were far wrong.

Swiftie or not, you have likely heard the term “Eras” thrown around over the past four months—it is nearly unavoidable. Social media, headlines, news channels, billboards, and even casual conversation have become fully Eras-infested. Her latest stadium tour, “The Eras Tour,” has taken over the world in a way that is practically unprecedented. Every show she has played over her past 19 stops has sold out. And not just sold out, but overflowed, with fans who didn’t score tickets crowding outside of open-air stadiums to sing along from a distance. Swift has played through a sore throat, a minor cold, in torrential downpours, and into the early hours of the morning, deliberately breaking city sound ordinances. Her three hour, 44-song show leaves fans wanting for little. Traveling across the many wide-ranging genres of her musical library, each “era” represents a different album, sound, and style—encapsulating distinctly vivid moments in time across Swift’s long and wild career. But they represent so much more than that to the fans.

eras tour minnesota

The length of Swift’s career has meant that many fans have been able to grow up alongside her. They might have been going through their very first heartbreak at the time she released “Teardrops on My Guitar,” walking into their first day of freshman year with the lyrics to “Fifteen” swirling in their heads, moving to a big city alongside the release of “Welcome to New York,” falling in love in sync with the dreamy romantics of “Lover,” or sitting alone in fear and isolation, comforted by the melodic lulls of her pandemic-time release, “Folklore.” It’s no wonder this tour holds the gravity it does. Minneapolis fans will not just watch Swift’s eras unfold this weekend, they will literally watch the stages of their own lives flashing back before them.

So, how will Minneapolis commemorate such an event? Since we last saw her, Swift’s fame has only grown in scale. In just five years, she has branded the term “(Taylor’s Version)”, released four new studio albums and two re-records, won her third Album of the Year Grammy, became the first artist to simultaneously occupy the top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100, and was named Songwriter-Artist of the Decade by the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Swift and Minneapolis have a lot of catching up to do.

So, with Swift officially lurching toward our favorite city , let’s take a look at how we’re preparing to welcome the biggest pop star on the planet back to Minneapolis. It might seem tricky to top creating a statewide holiday in her honor, but Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey might just have done it by renaming the city to Swiftieapolis for the weekend. Not to mention Minnesota Swifties already have been able to convince Metro Transit to extend its service on both concert nights. Here are 13 other ways the Twin Cities are throwing its own personal Taylor party this week. (Because any other number simply wouldn’t be right.)

1. Taylor Fest: The Eras Tour Pre-Party, Amsterdam Bar & Hall, St. Paul

An event proclaimed to be created “by swifties and for swifites,” dancing the night away at  Taylor Fest is the perfect way to ring in the Eras weekend, and show Swift that BOTH cities are ready for her. Join the fun June 22 at Amsterdam Bar & Hall in St. Paul.

2. The Minnesota Department of Transportation Offers Swift a Warm Welcome

It would practically be a crime to not have the term “Tay-gating” added to the dictionary at the conclusion of the Eras Tour. The fan-created jargon refers to the gathering of crowds outside the stadium before, during, and after shows to drink, dance, mingle, and exchange Taylor Swift friendship bracelets to bring home as memorabilia. Whether you have tickets, all are welcome to join the mob of Swifties at U.S. Bank Stadium’s official Tay-Gating parties , to be held both concert nights just outside of the stadium.

9. M.O.Tay, Mall of America, Bloomington

Still looking for a getaway car to the Eras tour? The Mall of America has you covered, with their M.O.Tay Pre-show Party and SwiftLift. After enjoying the range of festivities offered in the Mall of America’s North Atrium, including exclusive photo ops, a “Bejeweled” station, and friendship bracelet making, catch a ride to the show on the M.O.Tay SwiftLift bus, with service to and from the stadium. Pre-party and rides available both concert dates, through ticket purchase only.

Doors open at 10:30 each night, and welcome any and all Swifties, whether concertgoers or not.

Join Wilderness Fitness & Coworking in Minneapolis for an upbeat Eras-themed Taylor Swift yoga class. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and dress in their Eras best for the hour-long class. Hydrate in style with a lavender haze lemonade mocktail post-class. This event is scheduled for June 24 at 10:30, with slots filling quickly.

13. Swifite Brunch at Axebridge Wine Co. in Minneapolis

Axebridge in Minneapolis is “calling all Swifties” to attend their Eras-themed Taylor Swift brunch buffet on June 24. Whether you are waking up from your Friday night Eras-heaven, preparing for the Saturday night show, or still wishing you had secured tickets, you will get the Taylor-fix you’re searching for here.

There is all kinds of speculation about how the Minneapolis shows will differ from the other stops on Eras Tour thus far. One popular theory is that Swift will invite Bon Iver (Justin Vernon), who is an Eau Claire, Wisconsin native and Minneapolis resident, to the stage to play their two collaborative songs (“Exile” and “Evermore”) together. Another is that she will indulge in some of her winter-coded songs as an ode to our state’s notoriously chilly winters. But regardless of the specifics, Swift’s return to Minneapolis is an important event for the city in so many ways, especially falling on the same weekend as Twin Cities Pride, with Swift herself a notorious LGBTQIA advocate. Hosting what the Grammys has referred to as “the tour of a generation” and what Frey has predicted will draw in “Super Bowl-level crowds,” the spotlight will certainly be on Minneapolis this weekend, and it will only be amplified by the crowds of Minnesota Swifites clad in sparkles, packing their home city to shine just for Taylor .

Taylor Swift

Are you ready for it? Taylor Swift ‘s Eras Tour is finally here.

The 52-date trek kicks off Friday night in Glendale, Ariz., at State Farm Stadium with openers Gayle and Paramore. This marks Swift’s first tour since the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018, as her 2020 Lover Fest was canceled before it even began due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Swift has released three studio albums — “Folklore” and “Evermore” in 2020 and “Midnights” in October 2022 — in addition to re-recording “Fearless” and “Red” (which both came with bonus tracks) in 2021.
