Great Service and Competitive Prices

Due to a sudden and unexpected illness we had to cancel our 12 night European Explorer at short notice. We discussed the options with Ewan who was professional and efficient in helping us rebook the same holiday for later in the year. We have used Ramsays World Travel on a couple of occasions and their service is always first class and their prices are competitive.

Ramsay Travel Aberdeen

Have dealt with Ramsay Travel (Aberdeen) for many years now and have found them to be very efficient and helpful. They have always given us good recommendations for well situated hotels, pre holiday, which have been very comfortable. They also try to give us alternative suggestions to save us money etc.

Excellent agents

Excellent knowledge, a thorough and prompt response to my multi-centre holiday search, considered all my requests and changes with no hesitation and delivered the best package at a reasonable price!!! Super service as always. Trustworthy company. No where better in my opinion (frequent flyer, like to check out all options and websites) Thank you Ramsay Travel!

Stay clear of Dundee Ramsay Travel

Never will I ever use this company again. After asking to change holiday dates on an Easyjet booking, which I already paid £375. The holiday on Easyjet was £1200, Ramsay Travel wanted me to pay £1500 plus the £375 I had already paid. I understand they need to make a profit but £675 dearer than the online booking? ???? ?? NEVER..... ROBBERS... NEVER AGAIN..

Fantastic Service

Give Ramsay World Travel a Go! You won't be disappointed.

We had to make 3 trips into the shop before we decided what holiday trip was right for us and each time we were made very welcome by the courteous staff. Danielle McLeod was excellent in dealing with all our questions and queries on where we would like to go. Danielle provided us great choices of destinations and even cruises which we had not even considered. Once a resort was decided Danielle made sure it would tick all the boxes for us (our requirements and more). it was just so much better and if I can say easier than doing it online ourselves. So here's to our trip in a few weeks time and looking forward to it! Would honestly recommend visiting RWT for that more personal touch and easing you through any pitfalls that you may come across when doing it yourself. Thank You Ramsay World Travel and Danielle.

So had rome booked for months

So had rome booked for months, due to go in December 23, Ryanair changed the return flight to a day later which wasn't feasible as I had work commitments. I've had to fight Ramsay World Travel Dundee for my money back, this was fully refundable but they insisted they couldn't pay it back as they had paid Ryanair and had to wait for the funds coming back. Nonsense that is, then cause I wasn't willing to accept that they paid in £441 of what was paid. But stated I'll need to apply to Ryanair to get the remaining balance of £277. Terrible company to deal with and I'll never use them again.

Dundee branch appalling service

My holiday to Barcelona booked through the dundee branch was cancelled and unfortunately I made the mistake of booking another holiday whilst on the phone to Alan. This holiday cost more and I was reassured I had till the end of the month to pay it. I ended up being harassed whilst on a current holiday however via missed calls, voicemails and emails to pay this extra amount! Tried to cancel the new holiday and was told it would cost £180, despite being a regular customer and alan not even replying to my last email asking if the fee could be waived just this once. Wont book with them again and won't recommending them to anyone.

Great Customer Service

Spoke to Danny in the Stirling office today re a holiday to New York next year for my family and I. Danny was very pleasant and helpful during our conversation answering all my questions. I wanted a few different quotes Danny looked into this for me and called me back. After we had booked and paid our deposit Danny sent me all the relevant information and forms required. Very impressed with the service I received.

Excellent Service

I am so grateful for the excellent service we have received from the staff at Ramsay World Travel. Twice we had to get name changes as two family members couldn’t travel and on both occasions this was carried out efficiently. I’m very grateful as I was quite stressed by the situation but within a day everything was sorted. Thank you especially John.

Made booking on Dundee Cruises with Ramsay Travel Dundee

Made booking on Dundee Cruises. Norway, 10/09/24. At time of booking I asked if fridge was in room because of medication, was told yes all rooms have fridges. Someone from Ramsays called last week to confirm everything was OK and I asked about fridge again and agent could not see request. Said he would find out for me. To date knowone had curtesy to call back. I have since found out myself no fridges in cabins. So my estimation of Ramsay is not a lot when dealing with people's health. It's called pass the buck. Never use them again as they don't want to know once they got money.

Great experience of Booking a Cruise with Ramsay Travel

Spotted the cruise holiday first on the internet first, on a Friday evening, then sent an email to Ramsay Travel that evening asking them to look in to it for me. First thing on the Saturday (next day) I was at the phone waiting until shop opened at 9:00. A female answered the phone and stated she was a new assistant, and she told me she would get someone to look in to it for me, as she confirmed my email had been received. A cannot remember the name of the gentleman that phoned back, but all was done and dusted within no time at all, and all booked - thanks again. PS Booked a cruise with Ramsay last year also, and all good

Two Gordon Ramsay restaurants to open in December

The first two Ramsay outlets will open at Emsphere Mall through a partnership with Thailand's Tanachira Group.

Following four new restaurants in South Korea and twoin Malaysia, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, Gordon Ramsay's namesake restaurant group, continues its ambitious expansion in Asia with a plan to open Bread Street Kitchen & Bar and Street Pizza at Emsphere Mall on Sukhumvit Road in December. Twelve more Thai locations are to be opened in the coming years.

ramsay travel thailand

Ramsay will be another internationally celebrated chef with Michelin-starred restaurants to open his outposts in Bangkok, following the likes of Capella Bangkok's Côte by Mauro Colagreco and Iconsiam's Blue by Alain Ducasse. His namesake restaurant group was founded in 1997 and has been awarded 17 Michelin stars overall and currently holds seven.

ramsay travel thailand

On Emsphere Mall’s ground floor, there will be Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, a stylish and sophisticated, yet approachable all-day dining restaurant and bar. The menu features Ramsay classics, including Beef Wellington, Fish and chips and must-have sides like his delicious Macaroni cheese, as well as the world-famous Gordon Ramsay Sticky toffee pudding.

On the first floor, Street Pizza will bring a slice of cool Britannia to Bangkok. Having opened in St Paul’s London in 2018, Street Pizza has become a destination for bottomless sourdough pizzas, accompanied by live music and vibrant activities. Expect Classic Margherita to innovative toppings like Corn and chorizo, plus hot wings, dirty fries and cool drinks, including craft beers and cocktails. Surrounded by urban art and pop culture, every aspect of the guest experience is connected by a mobile app that rewards loyalty. There is also plenty of merch for guests to get their hands on, such as hoodies and caps.

According to Andy Wenlock, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants CEO, the partnership will bring the group's casual and premium casual brands to a new audience in Bangkok who "we know love to go out, socialise and enjoy good food".

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants is one of the largest privately-owned restaurant groups in the UK with 37 restaurants in the UK. The group has 35 restaurants internationally, including US, South Korea, Malaysia, France, Dubai, Singapore and soon, Thailand.

Tanapong Chirapanidchakul, CEO of Tanachira adds, "Thais and global visitors to Thailand alike can now immerse in this much-anticipated unique and exceptional culinary experience from Chef Ramsay. The wait is over.”

Founded in 2011, Tanachira Group is a leading lifestyle company based in Thailand with international brands in its portfolio such as Pandora, Marimekko and Cath Kidston. The group also owns Harnn group of brands, which include Harnn, Thai body care, skin care and aromatherapy products, and Vuudh, contemporary Thai spa products. Internationally the group operates more than 165 offline and online stores and has operations in Japan, Singapore and Vietnam.

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants has announced a new multi restaurant partnership with Thailand’s leading lifestyle operator, TANACHIRA Group.

As the restaurant group continues its ambitious expansion plans across Asia, where recent openings include four restaurants in South Korea and two restaurants in Malaysia, the partnership with TANACHIRA will immediately focus on opening two restaurants in the highly anticipated Emsphere Mall in Bangkok, opening on the Sukhumvit Road, December 2023, with a further twelve locations planned in the coming years.

The Emsphere Mall promises to be a go-to modern, luxury, retail destination, offering immersive shopping and dining experiences to both local residents and global travellers.

On the Mall’s ground floor, will be Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, a stylish and sophisticated, yet approachable all-day dining restaurant and bar. The menu features Gordon Ramsay classics including Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips and must have sides like Gordon’s delicious Macaroni cheese, as well as the world-famous Gordon Ramsay Sticky Toffee Pudding.

You don't know that, perhaps tourists could never afford to go in his "cafes" in their home country, and what a photo opportunity..... ???? .......... ????

Plus, I reckon many a tourist will be thinking of McD's or B-King anyhooo, after a couple of days of Thai grub......... ????

What are you talking about? The majority of people eating at foreign restaurants are foreigners in the first place. It is only people on tight budgets that dominate the ''i eat only thai food because it is cheaper'' and then a minority who simply only likes thai food. I would actually already want to go and check it out for the fish and chips, beef wellington and macaroni cheese.

What are you making up  ? You think foreigners with good money (except the wealthy pensionners)  come to Thailand ?

Ever heard of Monaco, St Tropez,  the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, Croatia or Ibiza ?

Rice and noodles 3 times a day gets rather repetitive after a few days and foreigners are often in a KFC within a week

I think that you are meeting the wrong foreigners.

I'm in.  I love the sound of swearing from the kitchen.

Didn't Jamie Oliver have a restaurant or restaurants in Thailand? How did that go? Maybe Gordon Ramsay could make a success of one or two restaurants if lucky, but 14 outlets? Guess he's not investing his own money but simply licensing (for a hefty fee no doubt), use of his name/brand to the Tanachira group. Perhaps his only potential loss is reputation.

Oh goody, just what Thailand needs- more restaurants.

LOL if you do that with Thai staff, he will have to change them like I my undies...

i have seen this clowns youtube videos of his trips to Thailand before.

Total cringe. He has no idea, and can not even handle mildly spicy food.

Easy to come up with 'tasty' food in England which is famous foractually having terrible cuisine. The bar is set very low.

He only got popular on TV from the way he carries on like an old mole, whining about everything, not because his bland food is actually any good.

But Thailand cuisine is up there with the best in the world, Thai restaurants popular and numerous all over the globe, and numerous dishes make top 100s every single survey.

Cant recall ever seeing a "English Restaurant" being popular. It tastes like krap, but blander.

Thais will think his food is tasteless, he doesnt know how to balance flavours, as proven by his old Thailand youtube content. Pepper and salt anyone?

quake

I will give it a go.

These pals of yours:-   " foreigners who are often in a KFC within a week"

That you think that hamburger junk food made by an American clown is better than Thai cuisine I think reflects more on your tastes than most tourists.

2 minutes ago, hotandsticky said: No.   These pals of yours:-   " foreigners who are often in a KFC within a week"

I did mean KFC as an example of non Thai food , rather than specifically a KFC , I will amend my post for you

At which of his restaurants did you sample Ramsay's food in order to have that opinion?    Quick!  Go and Google his restaurants for your response!

In Dubai I don’t eat Arabic food every meal !!!..,  there’s a good Ramsay restaurant on the Palm.

One of the amazing things about Thailand is extent of the range & quality of the food from all over the world.

The assumption by some that foreigners here only want Thai food all the time is very flawed.

StayinThailand2much

56 minutes ago, ChaiyaTH said: What are you talking about? The majority of people eating at foreign restaurants are foreigners in the first place.

Well, if they were out for the average Thai, good luck with that... Even some well-to-do Thais are nowadays 'careful with money' when it comes to restaurant visits. Still plenty of expats in Bangkok as a possible clientele.

1 hour ago, Sigmund said: tastes are like good BJ's in "very" happy soapy endings..they are all different ????

Not my tastes.

1 hour ago, ChaiyaTH said: What are you talking about? The majority of people eating at foreign restaurants are foreigners in the first place.

In any good international restaurant in BKK (at least) there is a fairly even mixture of foreigners and Thais.

Places such as El Mercado, Helena, Cocotte, Kai & loads more…

Even places with good Pub-grub such as the Londoner attract a lot of Thai customers…

You should go to Gordon Ramsey's new restaurant and tell him how to cook food , quite sure he would appreciate the advice on how food should be cooked

1 hour ago, transam said: Plus, I reckon many a tourist will be thinking of McD's or B-King anyhooo, after a couple of days of Thai grub......... ????

Very true, although perhaps not McD or BK… but I definitely crave a good burger after a while, as do many others, hence, the ‘best burger in…’ threads….

When back in the Uk I also crave good Thai food..,

When in Thailand I often crave a good curry, good sashimi, a good steak&ale pie, raviloi, Shabu, good Thai seafood etc etc

Variety at a reasonable price is what makes Thailand awesome.

& yes, occasionally a BK will hit the spot !!!!

Great news!

If I ever want to spend 5,000 on a meal, and still be hungry when I leave I'll know where to go.

1 hour ago, Sigmund said: What are you making up  ? You think foreigners with good money (except the wealthy pensionners)  come to Thailand ?   Ever heard of Monaco, St Tropez,  the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, Croatia or Ibiza ?

There's quite a big monetary difference between buying a retirement chalet in Switzerland and eating in a restaurant in Bangkok

20 Best Places to Visit in Thailand — From the Country's Oldest National Park With Secret Waterfalls to Stunning Islands With Excellent Diving

There's no shortage of beautiful places to visit in Thailand.

Thailand is so much more than a travel destination — visiting is a bona fide rite of passage. From hostel-hopping backpackers to well-heeled five-star hotel aficionados, there’s something for everyone in “The Land of Smiles.”

My most recent trip to Thailand was in early 2022, when the country implemented strict entry requirements due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, I was one of a few hundred thousand tourists who were allowed into the country, and it felt like I had many of the typically crowded attractions all to myself.

The beauty of Thailand is that it will show you different sides of itself no matter how many times you visit. From the idyllic white-sand beaches and palm-fringed islands in the south to the misty hillsides and temple-peppered mountains of the north, the rattle and hum under neon lights of nonstop Bangkok, and the ruins of ancient cities surrounded by jungle, Thailand never disappoints.

So, what are the best places to visit in Thailand? I reached out to a Thailand travel expert and threw in a bit of my own first-person experience to help you narrow down this ever-growing list.

Tessa Desjardins/Travel + Leisure

For most travelers, an adventure in Thailand will likely kick off in the nonstop, energetic capital city, Bangkok. A dizzying destination and one of my favorite international cities, Bangkok is full-on sensory overload — but in the best way. Dig into sizzling street food; meander back alleys and bustling thoroughfares in search of small markets, shops, and hidden temples; cruise along the Chao Phraya River, and grab a cocktail at the dozens of sky-high rooftop bars.

Tip: Book a room at the Capella Bangkok or Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok — two iconic luxury hotels with stunning locations perched on the Chao Phraya River.

Second to Bangkok on most visitors’ lists is the northern city of Chiang Mai. Many travelers even prefer Chiang Mai to Bangkok for its relatively slower pace of life. The spectacular city is bursting with temples (Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a must) and humming with restaurants and bars.

"I would say for anybody, whether it's their first time or a repeat trip to Thailand, if you have been there or you haven't, [you have to visit] Chiang Mai," said Grant Ekelund , Travel + Leisure A-List advisor and senior travel consultant and Asia specialist at InsideAsia. "It's such a neat city. It’s one of those destinations that has something for everyone … Are you a foodie? Do you want to hike? See cool temples? Have amazing trekking opportunities? It can all be done [here], and it slots into any itinerary perfectly."

Koh Phi Phi

Thailand has more than 1,400 islands scattered around its coastline, but few are as famous or iconic as the Phi Phi Islands in the Andaman Sea. Comprising two islands — Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh — Koh Phi Phi is known for its natural beauty, excellent diving, and raucous party scene. For the latter, Phi Phi Don is the most famous. Phi Phi Leh, meanwhile, is uninhabited and beloved by those looking to disappear into nature. It was blasted into the public eye about two decades ago, when Leonardo DiCaprio's character went in search of an island paradise in the film "The Beach," which is set in real-life Maya Bay.

While we’re on the topic of Koh Phi Phi, we’d be remiss not to mention Krabi province as a whole. Located in southern Thailand, bordering the Andaman Sea, Krabi is home to many of the beautiful beaches and islands that make Thailand famous.

"I've been booking many [trips to] Krabi lately," said Ekelund. "It ticks a lot of boxes for people. You've got the beauty, cool cliffs, and interesting geology. It has a beach, but it's for people who don't want to simply park it on the sand for 10 days. Krabi offers activities and more." Some highlights include the beach town of Ao Nang, as well as islands like Phuket, Koh Lanta, Koh Yao Yai, Koh Lipe, Railay Beach, and several national parks.

Koh Yao Noi

Sunphol Sorakul/Getty Images

My first trip to Thailand was to the small island of Koh Yao Noi back in 2013. One of the most beautiful islands in Phang Nga Bay, Koh Yao Noi is flecked off the coast of its sibling island, Koh Yao Yai. Sandy beaches and small fishing villages comprise most of the land here, along with the luxe Six Senses Yao Noi resort tucked along the eastern coast. The property’s infinity pool is legendary for its explosive sunrise views that blur the distinction between the sky and sea.

Many Thai cities have the ability to make visitors feel like they’re stepping back in time. But few create the illusion as vividly as Ayutthaya. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Siam, the ruins of Ayutthaya are breathtaking and hauntingly beautiful. It’s only an hour from Bangkok, making it an easy day trip or a great overnight excursion.

Boyloso/Getty Images

Sukhothai is another beautiful ancient city. "Sukhothai is for people who like history. I was taken by how beautiful the area is and how extensive the ruins are," said Ekelund. "We cycled around the ruins with a guide and got a great sense of the history. Sukhothai is much more rural and harder to reach, meaning it has fewer tourists. You also don't have a city built up around it."

Mae Hong Son Loop

Piriya Photography/Getty Images

Of all the places I've visited in Thailand, none stick with me as much as the Mae Hong Son Loop. This 300-mile route is most often tackled by travelers on the back of motorbikes looking to brave the mountain switchbacks that descend into the thick jungle and pass from small village to small village. It's not a journey to be taken lightly — motorbike experience is strongly recommended — but those who make the trip are rewarded with spectacular scenery and access to remote communities.

Khao Yai National Park

Bunphot Phairoh/500px/Getty Images

Thailand has more than 100 national parks. The oldest is Khao Yai National Park, which also happens to be the country's third-largest. Within the park lies a web of hiking trails, secret waterfalls, and herds of elephants.

"Khao Yai has a lot of bat caves, too, which is one of the coolest things I've ever experienced," said Ekelund. "I stood there for 30 minutes while an unending stream of bats flew over my head. It was all so beautiful. It's a beautiful park with waterfalls, trekking, and hiking. Plus, it's just a couple of hours [by car] from Bangkok."

wichianduangsri/Getty Images

Approximately two hours southeast of Chiang Mai is the city of Lampang. Much like many large cities in Thailand, Lampang has its fair share of temples, street food, and markets. But unlike the others, it feels like a place where time has stood still. Just listen for the sound of clip-clopping horse carts, still used for transportation, and you'll understand what I mean. Because of Lampang's integral role in the teak trade, many migrants from Myanmar made this northern city home, and you'll find teak mansions and Burmese-style temples everywhere.

fokkebok/Getty Images

Chiang Rai, a northern Thai city, is often glossed over as most visitors opt to stop in Chiang Mai instead. "I am always struck by how chill Chiang Rai is," said Ekelund. "It's a relaxing place to be and has cool stuff to do. It's a great city to walk through the neighborhoods and see people living their daily lives. I enjoyed the mountains, nearby villages, and opportunities for cultural exchange."

No list of best places to visit in Thailand would be complete without Phuket. While Phuket has a reputation for being crowded with resort after resort, the truth is it’s for a reason — the island is a beautiful place to be. Thailand's largest and most easily accessible island brings visitors in by the millions each year for its wide array of hotels, white-sand beaches, parties in Patong, colorful snorkeling, and eclectic culinary scene.

Oleh_Slobodeniuk/Getty Images

Thailand’s second most popular island sits off the country’s eastern coast in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Samui is wreathed in bone-white sandy beaches, peppered with temples, veined with hiking trails, and splashed with fabulous resorts and energetic beach towns and villages.

"It's hard to beat Koh Samui. It's just beautiful," said Ekelund. "If you want easy access without a full resort stay, I recommend Anantara Bophut . You can walk to Fisherman's Village, and you won’t feel like you're 'stuck' at a resort. If you want a full resort experience, I like Banyan Tree Samui for its private beach and spectacular rooms."

Cavan Images/Getty Images

The tiny island of Koh Tao, located in the Gulf of Thailand and not too far from Koh Samui, is one of the country’s best locations for diving and snorkeling. In fact, most avid divers will tell you that Koh Tao is their destination of choice in Thailand. The palm-fringed island is best known for its abundance of sea turtles.

Kanchanaburi

Thanit Weerawan/Getty Images

Shrouded in thick jungle and sliced by miles of track belonging to what was once known as the “Death Railway,” Kanchanaburi has a dark and tragic history. The infamous train route, which crosses the River Kwai, was built from 1940 to 1943 by prisoners of war taken by the Japanese in World War II. Today, only a small section of the rail route is open and takes travelers on a journey through the mountain cliffs and bamboo forests of Kanchanaburi. "If you're into history, beautiful vistas, trains, and wildlife, you can get all of that in Kanchanaburi. It's a place not many tourists go, either, so it has a lot to offer," said Ekelund.

Tieu Bao Truong/Getty Images

Trang is the province directly south of Krabi, which means it has the same beautiful stretch of Andaman Sea coastline, except with a fraction of the crowds. There’s no shortage of islands to explore around Trang, like Koh Kradan and Koh Muk. Koh Muk's crown jewel is the secret Emerald Cave, which can be entered via a dark tunnel that leads to a protected beach surrounded by towering limestone cliffs.

Pierrick Lemaret/Getty Images

Located in the province of Phang Nga, Khao Lak can be thought of as Phuket’s much quieter cousin. Less than two hours from Phuket International Airport, Khao Lak is home to miles of sprawling, empty beaches, plus it offers easy access to beautiful national parks.

"I've been hyping Khao Lak quite a bit for people who want something quieter," said Ekelund. "You have easy access to the Phuket International Airport, but it's much more chill than the other Andaman Islands. It has beautiful beaches, good infrastructure, a great spot for dining, and it’s not hard to get to."

Inigo Arza Azcorra/Getty Images

Whether or not you drive the Mae Hong Son Loop, you’ll want to stop in Pai when visiting northern Thailand. Once a sleepy community of expats, Pai has morphed into a must-visit backpacker destination. Visitors will find funky cafes and coffee shops, endless bars, guest houses, hostels, and a dispensary or two, particularly now that cannabis is no longer considered a narcotic in the country.

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park

awaywithtrex/Getty Images

South of Bangkok, the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan is best known for the glamorous, frenetic beach town of Hua Hin. The province runs down the skinny arm of the country, bordering the Gulf of Thailand on one side and Myanmar on the other. Here’s where you'll find Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Thailand's first marine national park. The park's top attractions include a series of spectacular caves and a sprawling freshwater marsh. Visitors can enjoy the park’s beaches, islands, walking trails, and thick mangrove forests. It’s just an hour from Hua Hin and about 3.5 hours from Bangkok.

This long, skinny island, also in the province of Krabi, flies under the radar, but it’s one of my favorite places in the country. Koh Lanta is home to beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and the Mu Ko Lanta National Park, an amazing spot for diving and seeing undeveloped beaches.

If I could leave a -5* review, I would. We booked a 13 Euro Rail Trip to Budapest, Vienna, Prague and Berlin in December through Ramsay Travel. Only 1 x 20kg checked suitcase (for a couple) and 2 x cabin bags were included in the cost (£1,518). However, upon arriving at the boarding gate, we were faced with an additional charge of £46 for the cabin bag as we were only booked to have a small personal bag each. We then had to add 1 x cabin bag to our return flight as we faced the same problem, resulting in another additional charge of £27.99. We raised this issue with Ramsay Travel immediately and were made to feel as though this was our error for misunderstanding their advertisement when it clearly said cabin bags were included. Not once did they ask for photo evidence of what we had with us to ensure it was in line with Ryanairs cabin bag policy. After sending proof of what Ryanair class as cabin bags, our complaint was escalated to head office, who immediately responded saying that no refund would be given. The receipts for these charges were sent to a private Ramsay Travel email, and we have now requested twice for the receipts to be sent to us. Both times have been answered saying they had been sent, but nothing has been received. Upon arriving at our hotel in Budapest, the hotel was old, run down and not well maintained. We were booked into a twin room (for a couple) and one of the beds were broken. We spoke to the receptionist, who just asked if it could be slept on and would try get someone to fix it... after 2 nights, I suffered back pain and 2 uncomfortable sleeps. We then had rail travel booked from Budapest to Vienna, upon boarding the train, we came to realise that no seat reservations had been made. The train was extremely busy and we were forced to stand for the journey, which is not a short rail journey at 3 hours 30 minutes, may I add. As a fellow Travel Co-ordinator, I would never dream of booking rail travel for clients and I am absolutely appalled that this happened, especially given that reservations would not have cost much. We then arrived in Vienna, and again the hotel was extremely aged and not well maintained. The pillows in the room were very soft, and after asking the receptionist if it would be possible to have additional pillows, were told "no, wait until morning, I don't know where they are". Another night with a poor sleep. After 1 night, we noticed that there was a fly infestation in the bathroom, which resulted in us having to be changed rooms. Our train from Vienna to Prague also did not have seat reservations, and we had to pay an additional £6 to make these reservations as we did not like the idea of standing on a busy train for nearly 5 hours. Same again for our train from Prague to Berlin, which was another additional cost of £5. At such a low cost to add seat reservations, it begs the question why could Ramsay Travel not have booked these in the first place? In the response from head office regarding this aspect of our complaint, it is stated that "seat reservations were not part of the package price", at no point were we made aware of this and I would expect a seat reservation to be made for such a long journey. This is without a doubt, the worst holiday I have ever been on and feel extremely let down by the Ramsay Travel staff, and disgusted at the lack of professionalism and standards that they set. We had also booked a trip to Thailand back in January through Ramsay Travel and airport transfers were booked for the wrong arrival and departure flights... sums up the staff to be honest. No attention to detail what-so-ever. Never again will I book a trip through Ramsay World Travel, I wouldn't trust them to book a train from Edinburgh to Glasgow. I strongly recommend NOT using their service.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE TO BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY.......!!! After booking with them last week for a family holiday and parting with a substantial amount of cash, when the booking details came through they were not what was requested..... although there a 3 people travelling I only have a double room...and not the family with the balcony I requested....only 2 people booked on the flight...and although I requested them together they are not... i am now having to deal with head office as the agent refuses to take my calls or get back to me... this can take up to 28 days for a result. ... this is for sure going to cost me more money!!!...and because they do not record their calls...it's his word against mine .....I am disgusted with the service so far and quite frankly should have used my gut instinct and not booked after last year's error resulting in a 7 hour delay as transfers were booked for the wrong day!!! ....PLEASE BOOK IN PERSON....CHECK ALL YOUR DETAILS THOROUGHLY BEFORE YOU PART WITH YOUR CASH....OR IT WILL COST YOU !!!!

Overcharged by £200 for a trip. Danny from their office in Perth tried to blame someone else but was surprised when I showed him the invoice I had from them that was £200 cheaper. I was then told by their assistant manager that I would get a cheque through the post from their head office in Dundee by Wednesday. Surprise surprise no cheque. I have now been in contact with my bank and police because of this fraud. My best advice is to avoid Ramsey travel Perth at all costs.
