Best Day Trips from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

My husband and I stayed in Myrtle Beach this October, during the shoulder season, so the beaches and streets were empty. It was nice not to have to fight the crowds, but we found ourselves with a little extra time to explore. Since we had a few chilly days, we adventured around to see what else the area has to offer. Here are some of the best side trips from Myrtle Beach you should check out on your vacation!

Best Things to Do Near Myrtle Beach

Pier at Myrtle Beach

Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens , just south of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, is a captivating sculpture garden and wildlife preserve. It is built on four former rice plantations, one of which was the Brookgreen Plantation owned by the largest American slave holder, Joshua John Ward. The gardens opened in 1932 as the country’s first public sculpture garden.

We enjoyed spending a day walking the grounds among beautiful old oak trees, creative sculptures, fragrant Magnolias, and blossoming flowers. It is definitely a must-see attraction if you are in the area.

Brookgreen Gardens

Tips for Visiting Brookgreen Gardens

  • Check Groupon – we purchased our tickets at half price.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes – the gardens are on 1,600 acres – that’s a lot of walking!
  • Wear a hat and/or sunscreen – the old trees provide some shade, but the majority of the garden is out in the open.
  • They offer a complimentary shuttle (mid March – November) that runs to the three main areas – the Gardens, Lowcountry Center, and Zoo.

Brookgreen Gardens

Huntington Beach State Park

Huntington Beach State Park , just across from Brookgreen Gardens, lies along the ocean. It is a great place to spend a few hours especially for nature or animal lovers.

It is a sanctuary for alligators and large varieties of birds. It has geocaching, picnic areas, camping, walking or biking trails and beach access. We rode our bikes, but I wouldn’t necessarily suggest it since we were hopping off so much.

Walking is the better option. The piers lead you in the middle of the freshwater lake, a perfect spot for animal watching. We saw an alligator swimming by and also tons of different birds!

Admission : $5/adult; $3.25/ S.C. Senior; $3/youth age 6-15; Free for children 5 and younger.

Bird watching at Huntington State Park

You can tour the Atalaya (ah-tuh-lie-yuh), the former winter home of Archer and Anna Huntington, the folks who left the park and Brookgreen gardens as their legacy. Built in 1931-33, the home was designed after the Moorish architecture of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. The Huntington’s named the home Atalaya, the Spanish term for watchtower.

Admission: $2/ages 6 and up; Free for children 5 and younger. This fee is in addition to the park entry fee, to help preserve and protect Atalaya. Guided Tours: Guided tours of Atalaya are offered March 1 – Oct. 31 Audio Tour : $4 pp; 45 minutes in length, available year round.

Atalaya House at Huntington State Park

Murrells Inlet & Dead Dog Saloon

We highly recommend Murrells Inlet for lunch, dinner or a night out on the town. It is a historic fishing village just 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach and is considered the “Seafood Capital of South Carolina.”  Waterfront restaurants line the marsh walk, a 1/2 mile wooden boardwalk overlooking a beautiful saltwater estuary.

All the restaurants have outdoor seating offering sweet views and super fun atmospheres. Lights are strung up, music is played, people are laughing, and good food is being eaten! Don’t forget to try to get there during Happy Hour, most of the restaurants have daily specials.

If you like to fish or just get out on the water this is also the perfect spot to jump on a boat. Crazy Sister Marina  offers a pirate ship adventure, dolphin tours, fishing charters and boat rentals.

Murrells Inlet

We ate at the Dead Dog Saloon where we saw some of the strangest decor we’ve ever seen in a restaurant. The walls were decorated with pictures of, just as the name states, dead dogs! Don’t get all freaked out; they were alive when the pictures were taken! We loved the laid-back feeling at the saloon. They have a covered section on the patio with windows overlooking the marsh area and an open outdoor patio as well. The staff was friendly, the food was good, and they even offered a 15% military discount!

The City of Georgetown

Established in 1734, historic Georgetown is the third oldest city in South Carolina. It has a charming small town feel with over 60 antebellum landmarks. Shop at locally owned stores, take a stroll on the Harborwalk, eat at one of the many restaurants on Front Street, or take a boat tour to the state’s oldest lighthouse.

Day trips from Myrtle Beach will take you to beautiful and entertaining attractions including Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach and Murrells Inlet.

The Market Common

If you are looking for something closer to Myrtle Beach or a little more upscale, the Market Common is the place for you. It has popular stores such as Tommy Bahama, Pottery Barn, Barnes & Noble, Piggly Wiggly, Williams-Sonoma, and White House Black Market. The restaurants include Gordon-Biersch, Tupelo Honey Cafe, Crepe Creation Cafe, Nacho Hippo and King Street Grille.

Again, another place to visit during Happy Hour. Most of the restaurants offer some kind of special, whether it is on alcohol or food. We had appetizers at the  King Street Grille. We tried the meatball sandwiches (just okay), mac & cheese eggrolls (awesome) , and wings (super awesome). We also had a drink at the party place, Nacho Hippo . It’s a cool cantina with great views of the Market Common lake.

We also sat by the fire and had drinks a separate night at Tupelo Honey Cafe  (great selection of wine and craft beer) with our friend Mark. Great travel story: we met him in Gatlinburg at a restaurant, us on our hiking trip, him on a family trip. We started talking and found out he lived near Myrtle Beach, the next stop on our big road trip. We exchanged numbers, met up again and thanks to him, we found out about this fun area!

The Market Common area also has a small lake, about 1.5 miles around. It was relaxing to walk when the sun was setting.

Lake at The Market Commons

Myrtle Beach has many attractions to offer each visitor, but we like to explore and see what else we can find. It doesn’t hurt to add a little nature, craft beer, or seafood to your trip at the beach!

This is great! I live in Hilton Head, SC which is only a few hours away. We’re going to make a trip to Myrtle in February or March. I love seeing some new places that are still nearby where I am in SC! Gives us some new, easy to get to places to try out. The shrimp po boy from the Dead Dog Saloon looks great!! Thanks for the tips!

Dang Travelers

Perfect! So glad we are able to give you some ideas. Thanks for reading. I haven’t written up anything on it yet, but Middleton Gardens is beautiful too (would be on your drive up). If you could time it early spring when the azaleas are blooming it is AMAZING!

Myrtle Beach is one of our favorite spots! We love Murrell’s Inlet. We will be there in less than 2 weeks for a quick little jaunt, just to get to the ocean!!! Thanks for the tips. We plan on visiting Huntington Beach.

I’m curious how the Inlet is after the hurricane last year. Hopefully bad to normal. Sounds like a great trip, have fun Mary!

Take a Side Trip to Little River from Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Updated : June 14, 2024

AAA Travel Editor, Sherry Mims

Table of contents, enjoy the festivities, take in the view of the waterfront, tour by water, see the sights by horseback.

Little River, ahoy! This community near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is perfect for a side trip, so feeling a need to explore only makes sense. The South Carolina coastline has drawn all sorts of wanderers, including pirates and bootleggers. In these parts, stories tell of Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, as well as Stede Bonnet and Anne Bonny. If you enjoy the waterfront, a trip to Little River will be one to treasure.

Luckily, the drive from Little River, South Carolina, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is about 25 miles and passes many recreational opportunities. Golf? Check! South Carolina's shoreline is said to be the Golf Capital of the World, with more than 70 courses in the region. There's also dog-friendly Vereen Memorial Gardens, which features boardwalk trails and scenic views. With the World Famous Blue Crab Festival in May, visitors from Myrtle Beach and around the country come for fresh seafood, boating and deep-sea fishing. So, set your compass toward Little River to chart your own adventure.

Little River is well-known for fresh seafood due to its location. Many enthusiasts mark their calendars for May's World Famous Blue Crab Festival to sample the region's specialty foods as well as arts and crafts during the two-day event. What began in 1981 as a small waterfront gathering of artists and residents has grown to include races and live performances.

So, if you happen to be in the area during the festival, keep your bib handy. If you're craving seafood, there's no need to return to Myrtle Beach. Because of the town's coastal location, you can almost always count on locally sourced menu items.

Ready for scenic views? Book Harbourgate Marina Club in North Myrtle Beach. The resort offers one-, two- and three-bedroom villas along the Intracoastal Waterway, as well as access to the marina. From the marina, guests can dock and refuel, rent a boat, or charter a fishing trip. There are also a few waterside restaurant options nearby, including Filet's on the Water, which has Happy Hour every day at four o'clock.

Little River is the place to go for candlelit tables and waterfront views, so a nice night out may be just the motivation you need. One such place to visit is The Parson's Table. The structure, featuring materials reclaimed from a 19th-century farmhouse and the Little River Methodist Church, offers a picturesque setting with cypress wood and stained glass windows. Try a Southern classic, notably the fried green tomatoes, as an appetizer, and order the Little River shrimp and scallops as an entrée.

Don’t miss the “swell” activities on the water. Myrtle Beach Watersports Dolphin Tours/Sea Screamer is one of the most exciting ways to explore the area. Plan to take a cruise on The Sea Screamer in Little River or The Sea Thunder in North Myrtle Beach that will navigate the Intracoastal Waterway, Little River Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean. You'll get the scoop on Civil War battles, pirates and natural history while looking for turtles and birds. The narrated cruise passes beaches and resorts before a visit to a special dolphin-viewing site in the Atlantic. If the dolphins aren't there for some reason, you can ride again for free! In any case, it's a worthwhile way to (maybe literally) get your feet wet in Little River.

Landlubbers are in luck, Inlet Point Plantation| in North Myrtle Beach offers 1-hour tours by land. Options include beach tours by horseback on the private Waites Island, 15- and 30-minute pony rides through pecan groves or a cinematic ride off into the sunset to mark the end of the journey.

4 Splendid Day Trips from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

There’s no deep-rooted reason to vacate Myrtle Beach’s warm, sugary sand or the Turkish blue Atlantic. However, it’s not uncommon for travelers to spend several weeks in our beachy paradise, particularly during inexpensive “offseasons.” Thus, it’s only natural that guests grow curious about the many seaside villages and historic towns on both ends of the sprawling Grand Strand. Part of what makes the Grand Strand so undeniably captivating is how accessible it is, thanks to U.S. Route 17. Sands Resorts , the premier Myrtle Beach vacation hub, has four distinct properties located in the heart of the beach community. We pride ourselves in being pleasingly affordable, utterly hospitable, and unquestionably sanitary. Oh, and our team has whipped together four sublime day trips from Myrtle Beach: Murrells Inlet, McClellanville, Wilmington, and Charleston.

Day Trips from Myrtle Beach: Explore the Carolinas

There are dozens of potential day trips from Myrtle Beach, including Little River, Calabash, and Bald Head Island. At the end of the day, these four selections exemplify the day trip “experience,” including an emphasis on the visual and culinary arts, as well as historical significance. Let’s start with the closest destination of the bunch: sunny Murrells Inlet.

Murrells Inlet, SC

Murrells Inlet is Myrtle Beach’s neighbor to the south. Many consider this charming marshland to be an integral part of the tourism industry. It provides a unique lens into the Grand Strand’s history via plantations, state parks, and cultural mainstays, such as long-standing restaurants and golf courses.

  • Pirate Adventures
  • TPC Myrtle Beach

  • Wachesaw Plantation Club

McClellanville, SC

Despite housing less than 550 residents, McClellanville is often regarded as one of the most memorable day trips from Myrtle Beach. Natural beauty, Southern charm, and charismatic locals perfectly accentuate the many nearby attractions, including countless wildlife preserves, historic sites, and, yes, some classic Carolina seafood.

  • Francis Marion State Forest

  • Nature Adventures Outfitters
  • St. James-Santee Parish Episcopal Church
  • T. W. Graham & Co.
  • The Village Museum
  • Wambaw Creek Wilderness Canoe Trail
  • Washo Reserve

Wilmington, NC

Yes, we often welcome guests from the Wilmington area, but most first-time visitors to the Grand Strand are not from the Carolinas. Thus, it’s important to shine a light on this port city, home to a historic district, countless WWII monuments, and a thriving craft brewery scene. As you can imagine, there are nearly a dozen absorbing museums that spotlight the area’s art, culture, wildlife, and architecture.

Charleston, SC

Last but certainly not least is Charleston, America’s “most beloved small city.” It’s easy to get swept away to a simpler time thanks to Charleston’s cobblestone streets, antebellum houses, and some of the oldest unrestored gardens in the country. Travelers return time and time again for the jaw-dropping plantation landscapes, divine gourmet cuisine, and bustling City Market. Although Charleston is 100 miles south of town, it’s by far one of the two best day trips from Myrtle Beach.

15 Best Day Trips from Charleston, SC

Founded and named in the honour of Charles II of England, and with a dance named after it, Charleston, South Carolina has several claims to fame which make it worth a visit.

The historic city is undeniably a beautiful place to stay.

Cute cobbled streets interlink colourful colonial houses, and plenty of leafy parks are interspersed throughout the city.

Culture lovers will find fun in its many museums documenting the antebellum era and beyond, while there are loads of great bars and restaurants to placate those who simply want to relax and enjoy their time away.

Stroll along to the port to witness huge cruise ships docking, or visit the theatre to take in a show – there really are options for everyone in this South Carolina gem.

And of course, there are lots of excellent places to visit just a short hop from the city – here are fifteen of the best.

1. Kiawah Island

Kiawah Island, South Carolina

The home of golf in South Carolina, Kiawah Island is a must-visit for any avid fans, or for those who want the chance to kick back and relax while the other half traipses around the course.

With over 90 holes of golf to be played in this relatively small area, you will find plenty to entertain keen golfers.

If this isn’t your style, there are also plenty of luxury spa options available.

If you have some time outside of the sporting activities, wander down to find Kiawah’s beautiful beaches, which fringe the island with golden sand.

2. Beaufort

Beaufort, South Carolina

A typical Old South city can be found in Beaufort, located around an hour and a half from Charleston.

This is a great day trip for history lovers; the town played a significant part in the Civil War, leaving many interesting sites for visitors to take a look at.

There are several museums around town, largely focused on the same theme.

Day trippers might also enjoy taking a tour of one of the numerous old mansions, left as a remnant of times gone by.

If such serious pursuits don’t take your fancy, you can always stop off at an entirely un-serious spot – the Kazoo Factory.

3. Savannah

Savannah, Georgia

Savannah is Charleston’s sister city, across the state border in Georgia.

There are many similarities between the two cities, but Savannah is definitely worthy of the trip for its prime location along the Savannah River, or simply the chance for a change of scene.

Stroll along the water’s edge, where the main strip of bars and restaurants is located, and perhaps grab a bite to eat.

On a sunny day, make sure to visit one of the verdant parks scattered throughout the city, a key feature of the city’s original design.

4. Wadmalaw Island

Wadmalaw Island

This island feels like worlds away from Charleston, despite actually being very close – at just over half an hour’s drive.

It is tranquillity personified, with stretches of country land covering the island and traditional farms still commonplace.

Take a tour of the Charleston Tea Plantation and Deep Water Vineyard while you’re around the area; the tea plantation is home to the only American-grown tea in the world, while the vineyard is the only one in the state.

Otherwise, just spend some time wandering round and soaking in the atmosphere, it’s always good to get away for a while.

5. Hilton Head

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Another great day trip spot for golf enthusiasts can be found in Hilton Head, though here there are perhaps more alternative options.

There is certainly a beachy feel at Hilton Head, with beachside activities like volleyball, day cruises out on the boats, and deep sea fishing all readily available.

Stay for the evening to catch some live music from one of the beach bars.

And then, of course, there’s the golf – which is well worthy of the two-hour drive to get there.

6. Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens near Myrtle Beach

The sculpture garden at Brookgreen is a fascinating sight and has plenty to entertain both kids and adults.

Every local will remember their first visit here, and it’s a great spot for a laid-back trip out for the day.

Founded by the wealthy Huntington family in 1932, there are countless sculptures to be spotted throughout the garden and also the option to take a boat ride through the plantation.

There’s over 9000-acres of land in total, encompassing the sculpture garden and wildlife preserve, so you certainly won’t find yourself running out of places to explore.

7. McClellanville

McClellanville, South Carolina

The cutest fishing village around can be found around an hour’s drive from Charleston down the US-17. The main attraction here is the freshly caught seafood, which can either be bought to take home with you, or cooked up to perfection in one of the great, no-frills village restaurants.

Sit on the docks to watch the fishermen unload their catch or simply spend some time wandering the sea front.

8. Edisto Island

Edisto Island, South Carolina

Another barrier island well worth the trip is Edisto Island, once home to plantations and slave owners – both of which are long gone.

The ruins of the main plantations on the island, Sea Cloud and Bleak Hall, are now encompassed in the wildlife area of Botany Bay.

Edisto Island is a gorgeous place to simply spend a day of no-guilt relaxation, with the atmosphere of times gone by and the three-mile beachfront stretching across the horizon.

The old-fashioned houses along the front make for a charming backdrop.

9. Georgetown

Georgetown, South Carolina

The historic city of Georgetown is the third oldest in Carolina, therefore has plenty of interesting stories from the past to be discovered.

Soak up the history in one of the museums, such as the South Carolina Maritime Museum or the intriguing Rice Museum.

If history isn’t your thing, then take a stroll along the pretty Harborwalk by the water front, or even grab a place on a boat and explore out to sea for the day.

There are plenty of excellent bars and restaurants, with everything from typical Southern dishes to craft beer on offer.

10. Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach is the most famous and well-developed resort area along the strip of coastline known as the Grand Strand, and a joyous place to spend a summer’s day away from Charleston.

It’s about two hours’ drive, but well worth it for the opportunity to spend a glorious few hours sunbathing on the beach front, surfing in the gentle waves, or splashing about in the shallows with the kids.

The town is well-equipped to provide anything you could want in terms of food and drinks, and the place is lively all year round.

Head further north or south from downtown if you want to escape the bulk of the crowds, especially in peak season.

11. Columbia

Columbia, South Carolina from FInlay Park

State capitals are always worth a visit, and Columbia is no different.

Especially for those who have an interest in history or politics, Columbia has a lot to offer, from still-present damage left over from the civil war adorning some of the buildings, and the state house standing proud in the middle of the city.

If that’s not your cup of tea, however, you can also pay a visit to Congaree National Park – South Carolina’s only proper national park – for biodiversity and a pleasant afternoon of walking or kayaking.

12. Cottageville

Bee City Zoo Cottageville SC

Cottageville provides a unique and extremely fun day trip opportunity for families – a visit to the Bee City Honey Farm.

Kids will love getting the chance to learn how honey is made, from how the bees go about collecting pollen to the process of putting the hive’s hard work into the pot.

It’s an educational day out for everyone and you can purchase some of the delicious, locally-produced honey to take away as a souvenir.

There’s also a miniature train to ride on through the farm.

13. Walterboro

Walterboro, South Carolina

Walterboro is considered the entrance to Low country.

As such, it has a lot that can appeal to tourists.

There’s a wildlife sanctuary, plenty of museums and an excellent farmer’s market open during the summer months.

The highlight of the historic town, however, is certainly its focus on artisanal crafts, which can be found in the state’s Folk Arts and Craft Centre, the South Carolina Artisans Centre.

There are plenty of other shopping opportunities too, including some excellent antique stores.

14. Shem Creek

Shem Creek, South Carolina

For all the water-based activities you could ask for, Shem Creek is the answer.

The kids will love this day trip option, owing to the multitude of active options on offer – from kayaking and paddle-boarding to boating.

Dolphins can sometimes be spotted frolicking in the creek, too.

For the adults, there are many good waterfront dining options to be found, and the creek is a great spot for sunset.

At only 45-minutes from Charleston, this trip is a no-brainer.

Suggested tour : Charleston: Shem Creek Culture Tour

15. Francis Beidler Audubon Forest

Francis Beidler Audubon Forest

This forest in Harleyville might not have National Park designation yet, but it still offers day trippers the chance to get back to nature, with less of a crowd.

An 11-year-old saves a 9-year-old boy from drowning at a North Myrtle Beach, SC resort

A 9-year-old boy was rescued from drowning by another child at the Baywatch Resort in North Myrtle Beach on Saturday, according to a North Myrtle Beach Police report.

He is the sixth child to be involved in an incident involving water in the Myrtle Beach area this summer.

The child’s family was staying at the Baywatch Resort, 2701 S. Ocean Blvd., when they went down to the pool. The 9-year-old started to swim toward the deeper end of the pool when he lost his footing and began to drown, the report said.

An 11-year-old noticed the boy struggling in the water and thought he was playing at first, but then realized it was serious, the report stated. The older child grabbed the 9-year-old and brought him to the side of the pool where life-saving aid was given.

Police found the child to be OK but still sent him to the Grand Strand Hospital.

Several child drownings have occurred at pools in the area this year.

Annalise Baker, 5 , died on June 23, a day after she drowned at the Sea Crest Resort , 803 S. Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach. Her mother, Alyse Wike, allegedly left Baker in the pool area alone and was at the hotel bar when she drowned, according to police. They were from Pineville, South Carolina.

Emily Hanna, 3, died in the hospital on July 5 shortly after being pulled out of a home swimming pool. She’s from Hemingway but was staying with family along Brookstone Drive.

Lylah Dillon, 2 , was visiting Myrtle Beach from New Milton, West Virginia, when she drowned in a lazy river along Wild Iris Drive. She died on July 7.

Serenity Evans, 11 , drowned while staying at The Links Resort, 917 Thomas Ave. in North Myrtle Beach. She was swimming with her family on July 20, police said. She died at the hospital on July 23.

Ana Luisa Beccerra-Lira was arrested after her child nearly drowned at the Caribbean Resort , 3000 N. Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach on July 8. The condition of the child has not been released.

There’s also been at least two adult drownings, as 37-year-old Grace Mendonda, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died after being pulled out of the pool at the Twilight Surf Motel, 1701 S. Ocean Blvd. on Aug. 3.

Christopher Burns, 32, of the Surfside Beach area, died from a suspected drowning in the ocean near 3rd Avenue South in Myrtle Beach.

Everything we ordered was delicious - especially the Ahi tuna wraps! And my daughter had the açaí bowl and loved it!

Wanted to pop into this place just to support local and the sign and name was cute. The inside was super clean and aesthetically pleasing. Beachy themed without being obnoxious with a razzle dazzle of pupper. I forget her name cause ADD brain but the lady who was working immediately greeted me and offered me a menu. She was also very thorough in the run down of it and instantly got my attention with some things. I got the vegetarian ramen and was not disappointed! Everything was super fresh and the jalapeños were a very nice zesty touch! I thought the serving size was well worth the $13 with the food quality boppin' to boot. I initially only meant to get a liquid death and salted caramel coffee to go. But ended up getting ramen with them. The coffee was shockingly very, very good! Nice, genuine flavoring and most importantly as a coffee snob, BALANCED. Not overly sweet and not strong coffee. Then came Jolene the pup! I got to be an awkward stranger and take some pics of her. The staff were super down to earth and personable. Before other customers came in we chatted and had genuine conversations. As someone with social anxiety and general weird aura, it was super nice to just randomly talk to two pleasant people. Long review! But I highly recommend this place. It's locally owned. The two staff members working were incredibly down to earth and professional as heck. They started to get pretty busy and it was kinda awesome watching them zip and zing. Food industry workers, good ones at least, are fascinating to watch. There's a quality there that's elusive to most. Prices were very fair and reasonable. Food was high quality and fairly portioned. Cafe aesthetic was welcoming, very clean and modern. I genuinely have zero complaints and will definitely be returning. This is a local gem! Support our s!

We were greeted as we came in and told to sit anywhere. Seating was not particularly comfortable-hard metal chairs. We ordered drinks and our sodas were brought out in cans, which meant no refills which got expensive. We got the Korean BBQ lettuce wrap appetizer. It was ok. The lettuce was still wet and it was missing texture-chopped peanuts over the top would've helped a lot. We shared the chicken trashcan nachos. Again, it was ok. Queso tasted like Velveeta. Lettuce had a home cook chop on it. Needed guacamole and salsa on the side. It all tasted like food that a home cook would've made, but wasn't restaurant style in quality or taste. Would maybe try it again, but can't understand the 4.9 rating.

Love it, really bringing a new vibe to this spot. Sushi and nigiri was very good and inexpensive. The trash can nachos are exactly that. Come in a bucket that you dump out into your plate. Not like the nachos you usually see. Very good. I had an Asian pork wrap that was a steal for the price and very flavorful. Highly recommend. And draft beer too!

Our daily walk to get our iced coffee. We will miss this when we get home. Great selection of unsweetened flavored iced coffee. We will be back when we return to Cherry Grove! Place was quaint and very clean. And service was great! They had a great selection to offer. But we only ordered the iced coffee.

Kids menu could use some improvement. Mac and cheese from a box is not acceptable for $12 buck. Instead of adding chips with salasa as a side focus on making edible Mac and cheese. Our kids deserve to eat good quality food. Great options for adults and I'm sure they are working out the menu still. Service was great.

Just not outstanding. Noodle bowl was like little carrot straw and frozen edamame...not amazing at all. Pork in street tacos was DRY. Making pork dry is really hard lol

My mother, niece, and I were on vacation this past week. We stumbled across this amazing restaurant while walking to the store. My niece has celiac disease and is a type 1 diabetic. She notices they have the gluten free symbol on their sign. From the moment we walked in, we were in love. Almost everything on their menu is gluten free and they were soooooo knowledgeable about the disease. The chef came out and talked to us and let us know how seriously he takes it! She ended up ordering from there 4 or more times during the week. She hasn't had that much freedom to order what she wants in a long, long time. Thank you!!! You made the vacation perfect for that 16 yr old girl!!

SO DISAPPOINTED!!! Salty Brews more like Smokey Brews (more on that later). I was really hoping this new spot in Cherry Grove would be better. I have been waiting for something like this in the area for quite some time. Went with the family so excited. Unfortunately, this place is horrible. We were sat in the back and noticed the place was a little smokey when we walked in but didn't think much of it until later. When we finally ordered, they were out of almost half the menu,, we ordered fish tacos, a poke bowl an açaí bowl and a kids meal for my 2 year old. As we were waiting for our food our eyes started to burn , I asked the waitress about it and she said that the exhaust fan in the back was broken and they had to close the front door because it was storming. Basically all the smoke from the kitchen was filling the restaurant. The food came out and everything that had lettuce or cabbage tasted like cleaning chemicals. When I mentioned it to the manager apologized and took the food away. I told her that we didn't want anything else and that we were going to just go. Even asked for change so I could tip the waitress, wasn't her fault, I've been in her shoes before. The manager then said she would exclude the two dishes from my bill and that I would still need to pay for the açaí bowl and the kids meal. I thought she was joking, but no! I was hungry and ready to get out of there to avoid smoke inhalation so I didn't argue with them I just paid while shaking my head. I was hoping for a much better experience and a new go to spot but I was outrageously disappointed in the entire evening at Salty Brews. If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would.
